Wir haben dieses Restaurant für eine Geburtstagsfeier zum 70. Geburtstag für 8 Personen reserviert, weil es 1) in der Nähe von unserem Aufenthaltsort war (Madulain), 2) eines der wenigen Restaurants war, die noch in der Nebensaison geöffnet hatten, und 3) laut ihrer Webseite eine größere Auswahl auf ihrer Speisekarte im Vergleich zu anderen Restaurants hatten. Als wir ankamen, stellten wir fest, dass sie nur eine begrenzte Auswahl auf ihrer Speisekarte hatten, obwohl es hieß, dass sie alles hatten. Ich habe meine Erfahrung unter Saal aufgelistet, obwohl wir ein Mittagessen auf der Terrasse genossen haben. Ich nehme an, dass dies in der Lounge/Roten Bar gemacht wird. we stayed between christmas and new year twice for a nice sunshine on the terrace from castell lunchtime. the location is unique with the view and the historical construction. the children can also be kept in the eye at any time on the lovingly provided ice field in front of the terrace. we had the salat with poulet stripes, the bündner gerstensuppe and the tagespasta. only the size of the portions are somewhat too small for people who have in this high sporting activity behind them.The quality of the service staff is very different. from lustless to immig everything is there. in principle one has the impression that the staff is sufficient for the amount of restaurant visitors. if you would... in comparison to other restaurants in engadin, the restaurant in the hotel has a pretty bad price/performance ratio. main foods with trips over 60 chf have a quality of about 35 chf. on the wine card there are no wee under 50 chf and that with weeping from the euro area. the service in the evening was not attentive. short: easy too expensive for the required performance.
we reserved this restaurant for a 70-yr birthday dinner celebration for 8 people because it was 1)near where we were staying(madulain) (2)it was one of the few still open for the off-season (3) it had,according to their internet site,a bigger choice in their menu card compared to the other restaurants open.we found when we got there a limited list in their menu card
my constructive critique: I know that a hotel restaurant has specific peculiarities, but that doesn't excuse everything: if a small menu, then with local specialties. I'm not much, but the portions were too small. no demand for a proposal. the service was simply inadequate. pity, because castell as an art place with the beautiful dining room would have much to offer.
the beautiful hotel and the great location can not be comforted completely over the in needy and overpriced foods. in greybels, many locals compete around the "best bündner gerstensuppe"; the castell has to settle in the queue of the competitor, unfortunately, at the back.
