There 's one gentleman that was very kind and accommodating, Brian, he had curly blonde hair and glasses- nice guy and obviously had training in hospitality. I was locked out of my room after a stroll and breakfast. I went down and asked for another key because my stuff was in the hotel room and I needed to get it prior to my spa appointment. We stayed for 5 days to see nearby friends. We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Our room was neat and clean. The grounds are amazing! We pulled up and couldn’t have been happier! We went right to the pool, which had a guy playing guitar. Did a Prosecco tasting. The bartender, at my request made me a new drink and experimented and it was fabulous. We saw him at the inside bar later and he was so friendly. A young lady (waitress) spoke with us at the pool and later in the bar and was so nice and even showed us around the castle, bringing us through areas we may never had seen and gave us history of the place. Oh, and let's talk about the food—it was absolutely incredible! I could go on for another hour about my spa day right afterwards; it was the perfect remedy for my tired dancing body and had me feeling honeymoon-ready! Be sure to ask for Brian!

My husband and I were looking for a place to spend a quiet, easy, relaxing weekend. We found this castle only an hour from NYC by train. The hotel has a spa, where we planned to have a massage and enjoy the facilities. Unfortunately we couldn't, because we didn't reserved before our visit. I was very disappointed, however we certainly would love to go back and try the spa again.We walked around the gardens, enjoyed the pool and whirlpool, the view of the Hudson River, complementary breakfast and, of course, the amazing room. During my visit to the spa, I encountered a $50 service fee that was not mentioned when I booked my massage. When I went to pay after my treatment, the receptionist failed to inform me about this fee. I had already included a generous tip for my masseur before I discovered that this fee was split with them. It's essential for all customers to be made aware of such significant upcharges prior to confirming their treatments, and the inclusion of gratuities in the final bill should be clearly explained before customers add tips. I left feeling taken advantage of, which was not the experience I had hoped for.
My children and I spent a long weekend there in August 2023. The staff were exceptional, going above and beyond to assist with even the smallest requests. It’s evident that this hotel is well-managed. We had brunch on Sunday, which was a pleasant experience. While the food wasn't necessarily better than at many other places, the atmosphere and service made it worthwhile. My kids really enjoyed the pool (which has a bar!) and the large chess set in the garden. I highly recommend this place for both families and couples.
Great place and nice stay, not sure if the word “luxury” accurately describes it. Stuff is nice and friendly, the place is clean and quiet, beautiful scenery. A few comments: the pool is open from 10a-6p it wound nice if they extended the hours of operations. Breakfast was rather poor, typical American hotel breakfast which is included in your stay. Overall the place is good, but there so many things that could be improved and brought up to luxury level.Safety: Very safe

Terrible service. They didn't provide a (digital) room confirmation, which I suspect is a tactic to overbook and shuffle guests around at the last minute. Unsurprisingly, we were relocated to a different room upon our arrival. When we asked simple questions about the situation, they responded defensively and aggressively, trying to twist the narrative. I'm grateful I won't have to deal with this place ever again.
Absolutely stunning! We had a wonderful time simply relaxing in the atmosphere. The room was clean and well-maintained, and the staff was incredibly helpful. Rooms: 5/5
