I booked for 4 of us for my partners birthday meal, when we arrived the restaurant was quite empty just us and another 2 tables. We ordered our 4 mains and only 2 arrived, they did not tell us there was a problem with the pizza oven we were just told the pizzas would be with us soon. They arrived when the other two mains were nearly finished, not what you expect when you go out for a meal together. We then waited over 20 minutes for them to ask if we would like to look at the dessert menu, when the waitress came to the table she asked if we preferred cream or ice cream, all of us replied ice cream. The desserts arrived with whipped cream I pointed this out and was told we can get you the ice...
I really wanted to give this restaurant a higher rating. Our party of 8 had a overall good food experience. My partner enjoyed his ribeye steak, cooked exactly as he wanted. However, my lasagne was too big, too mushy, and the pasta was overcooked. Despite being known for hosting large parties, the restaurant was too cold during lunchtime. The heating system is old and in need of an update. Additionally, they missed the opportunity to showcase the beautiful view of the valley and castle by not opening up the wall. There was no cider on tap, as the barrel had run out. Overall, the staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. While there were more positives than negatives, I probably won't...
The service and food at this restaurant were outstanding. We booked for an 18th birthday and were well taken care of. The owner and staff were professional and polite, serving delicious food in a timely manner for our group of 12. We will definitely be returning as there is a wide variety of options to choose from. This place is a hidden gem and I wish I had discovered it sooner. They offer a fresh pizzeria where you can customize your own pizza, a sushi bar, traditional pub fare, and gourmet dishes as well.
We were greeted by disinterested staff upon arrival, which set the tone for the rest of our dining experience. While the drinks were good and the main dish was tasty, the starter was small. Unfortunately, no staff checked in to see if we were enjoying our meal, and we were not offered a dessert menu or any coffees. Additionally, there were no alternative milk options available. Overall, it was a disappointing experience at what could have been a wonderful venue.
