Absolutely horrible went in there before to have food wasn't great and then went In there today asked the lady if my son could use the toilet and hes only 5 and because my other 2 chikdren came in with me and needed the toilet a man came out and had a massive go at me and my children that if we weren't paying customers we were not allowed to use the toilets. He upset myself and my kids and saying there were other customers waiting even though there was barely anyone in there and told us very rudely to get out I won't be returning for anything there again as it clearly isn't family friendly nor considerate towards young children I would not recommend this place if u want good service or kind...
I grew up in South East London and grew up loving pie, mash and green liquor. I have tried many places looking for a plate that takes me back. So often the pies are crispy, or have too much gravy or the liquor is watery. For a birthday treat in the past, we have travelled to Manze's in Greenwich but now we have found the Cathedral Pie House in Rochester which is on our doorstep!!! It is as authentic as you can get!! We did takeaway for my birthday this year and even after warming it up at home, it is was perfect. We used the microwave to heat up the mash and to make sure the pie crust wasn't hard. The liquor was heated on the hob... it was perfect. Can't wait to go back and eat in....
Went on Thursday 12th October and it was busy. On arrival, paid for food and was told 10 minute wait. That turned into 25 minutes. When food arrived the pies were slightly undercooked and the mash was incredibly lumpy. Served with too much liquor as well. Nowhere near the best pie and mash I’ve ever had.
I’m not sure who writes these reviews on here saying best pie and mash ever. This will be my first and last time visiting. How you can serve up cold lumpy mash potato and cold dry hard pies which taste stale is beyond me. Awful food cheap and nasty. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Only real pie n mash shop I can find in Kent, nice but pies are dry no juice in them ,which I find very strange ,been eating it All my life n Never experienced dry ones ,dunno if it was a bad day ,but prefer my pies with some juice in them
Had a home delivery today. Not hot and did not need blowing on! The Large size Liquor is small. Heaven knows how little you get if you order a small Liquor. Not impressed
Without doubt, the best Pie and Mash in Rochester and probably Kent. Every time the pies have been great and always my 'go-to ' when I need it. Good quick service, also.

Lovely double pie and mash for two with liquor and cup of tea run by a guy who knows abouts pie and mash. Wish they did decaff tea and coffee.
