My wife and I went to CAU Wilmslow on our first date since the birth of our first child this week. Everything was great until we had to leave after about 1 hour. I asked for our food to take home in boxes and when the man returned with the food he gave us a bottle of wine on the house and was sorry we had to rush off. We were surprised and delighted with this level of customer service it was such a kind and genuine gesture. We will definitely return when Sofia is a little older.
We have not been to Cau as a family before and it is perhaps better suited to later evening dining than early 6pm dinner. The air con was arctic, the music so loud we couldn’t really have a conversation and although the main courses were nice, there was a long wait between courses. The churros usually my favourite thing were disappointing: lukewarm and tasteless. I will go back to Cau but will stick to adult dinner time or brunch for the family.
Very disappointing. We have dined here many times and standards have dropped dramatically i.e No sweet potato . Chunky chips not properly cooked. Desert pancakes very rubbery and obviously not prepared fresh. Steaks were very good Previously very good but will not return unless I hear things have improved

Second experience with Cau restaurants. Food was good, but not as good as the excellent meal we had in Liverpool. One steak was way overdone, the others only average. A little better attention to detail at this price level would be welcome.
My partner and I had a lovely time on Friday night. The food was amazing! Would especially recommend the pork belly starter yum! Can’t wait to go back.
