We took a visiting family with children aged 12 and 8 to enjoy a Fondue Bacchus beef cooked in broth. The quantity was generous we were offered extra helpings of both meat and the best chips (French fries I 've had in a long while. Friendly, 'can do ' staff with prompt service although the restaurant was full. We sat outside outside the restaurant but there was no disturbance from wind or traffic a cul de sac. The broth is served as a soup at the end of the fondue tasty and delicious, and easily digested. We enjoyed a good range of desserts and drank an excellent Zusslin Pinot Gris. This is a marvelous restaurant in this small village. It was a holiday so the place was packed. The specialty is meat fondue, and we had Fondue Bacchus, which was outstanding. It was accompanied by several sauces and pommes frites. It was very tasty and fun, besides. We do not speak French, so there was a language barrier that wasn't too hard to overcome with Google Translate. Despite this difficulty and the large number of guests, the servers were very friendly. This is a great little small town restaurant with wonderful food.
Four of us had lunch on the terrace in the sun, tired after a long walk around Orschwihr. The service was impeccable. Classic and traditional Alsatian dishes, but not a lot of choice for vegetarians. Most of us had steaks and fries which were excellent. I had the selection of fish, and while there were only two small pieces of fish the meal was well cooked with a good sauce. Highly recommended.
We got there at the best time as a family with two hungry children. We were travelling by bike and were not served even though there were empty places. The owner told us in a very unfriendly manner that there were no more places. We were truley disapointed. In no place on our journey through France we have experienced something similar.
