We visited this restaurant following a review in a Vendee magazine. It was extraordinary. It was raining heavily, with a strong wind. We were seated at a table directly facing the ocean, with waves thundering in onto the rather ominous rocks beneath. A breathtaking sight. Round 1 .. 10 points! The menus .. and there were a number, were reasonably priced, surprisingly so for a Michelin starred restaurant. We chose the middle of the range Euros 65 menu which was very interesting. We were given many little bouchees in between courses which were so delicious. The entree was fois gras, displayed in such an artistic way, it was almost difficult to destroy it by eating it.Round 2 ... 10 points! Litt...

For the 10 years we have been coming to Sables, we promised ourselves that we would go here and yesterday we finally did! It was great fun and pretty much as good as we thought although the head waiter was a bit humourless- he of the sliver bunch of grapes on his shirt.. Our main waiter was lovely and did not patronise us and our pigeon French ! Had an aperitif on the terrace - cocktails - overlooking the sea with amazing amuse Boucher and then in for the main event. We had the menu terroir at 35 euros apiece. Dorade carpaccio was amazing and so was th maitre for mains.. The faux filet was a litle tiny bit tough - had better at Thalassotherapy Spa the previous night- but the desert was amazi...

We've been here before, but this time, the sea was more sparkly, the food more savoury, the cheeses more pungent, the staff warmer and more efficient...it seems impossible. Cayola is without question one of my favourite restaurants in the world. This is not a stuffy fine restaurant, even thought the food is delightful and the rhythm of the service is stately. This Sunday lunchtime on the corniche outside Les Sables d'Olonne: the restaurant was full of families, celebrating special occasions with three generations or more; so there is a warm and happy atmosphere. You start outside with aperitifs overlooking the rocky bay with the smell of the thyme lawn blowing over the wooden terrace. Then y...

i reserved last Saturday for Sunday lunch, and when we arrived we got a private dinning room, with a private terrasse and a wonderful view on the coast, good start. And then every detail was perfect, we choose the tester menu with wines, an excellent choice, we got the right wine for every meal, not a well known medium quality wine but a great quality wine from small wineyards, I was impressed by them! All meals where great, nicely setup in the plate, with the right explanation from the waiter. From lobster to the cherries of the dessert a good symphony for the mouth, the ormeaux were awesome. So far the best restaurant I have ever been. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

The culinaristic edge of Vendée holiday. Had degustation menu with matched wines with my 8 yo son enjoying menu enfant. Service, view and food all excellent, no wonder the mention on red book. We enjoyed especially the visuality and funny details during the lunch. Worth to travel within region and book in advance. Recommended wines creative and second choice always available, if first choice not fully agreed. Well build wine list. Where to improve: cheese choice was shy and local ingredients could have been highlighted more. However excellent value for money !

After our experiences elsewhere in Les Sables D'Olonne, expectations were pretty high and they were surpassed. After aperitifs looking out to the sunset over the bay, the Menu Cayola gave the chef an opportunity to show what he could do. Simple and imaginative do not normally go together easily but he resisted the temptation to put too much on the plate - they say that a true master knows when the work is finished and when to stop. Definitely do not forget to go to Cayola if you are in the area.

This restaurant is pure class, starting with the view just beautiful and with an interior to match. We had the taster menu with wines at €115 and it was excellent. The chef here is very talented and his presentation is stunning. We are glad we did it for a one off. The only negative put we couldn't mark them down for is their lack of English, so didn't always know what we were eating.

A grandiose meal in the rules of a gastro, impeccable service and a fuzzy atmosphere in a fabulous setting everything was gathered ... it must be said that it was the 3rd time for our PACS in 2011 the 2nd our wedding in 2014 and this day invited by our daughter ....Although disappointed ... we will return ... Only one note we made the coffee served for Mr was not top Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

Had a lovely meal here in May, was a bit worried about the potential language barrier but it worked out ok. Food was amazing and the view was incredible.
