This is by far the best 'East Coast donair ' that we have been able to find, west of Nova Scotia. This is not a Shwarma, nor a donair dressed up as a Shwarma. It doesn 't pretend to be. People frequenting this establishment should not expect it to be. In Nova Scotia, they do not ask you what type of sauce you want, there is only one sauce, and yes, it 's sweet. There are plenty of Shwarma places for people who would prefer a more Swarma type 'donair '. We live in the East end of the city, and still make the drive over at least once a month, for a true donair.
I read about this place on internet everybody praising about it. I had donnair before this was nothing compared to what i had in germany. I believe it is a turkish food. Meat on a donnair suppose to be cut in thin shavings and sauce not suppose to taste like maple syrup. Maybe this is some halifax variation. I rather have pancakes and syrup than this overrated halifax donnair . Terrible choice. Just get a shawarma guys much better.
This is the best Donair restaurant in all of Ontario. I have been searching for years and finally found it. The Kingston location on Princess Street was a disappointment, as the new owners didn't get the spices right. But the Ottawa location nailed it perfectly! The owner is a good guy too. I got three large Donairs to go. Ha!
I am originally from New Brunswick and I can honestly say that this restaurant is the real deal! They serve the most authentic garlic fingers and donair sauce around. Now I don't have to smuggle frozen garlic fingers every time I come back from a visit home. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
The service is always quick and friendly, and the donairs taste just like they do on the East Coast. I highly recommend this fantastic restaurant.
