Cerutti 2 - Tisch resevieren

Today I had my first meal at Cerutti “2”. The entire experience was excellent! There is something a little old fashioned about the event. The welcome I received was fulsome. The dining room is elegant and the food was wonderful. My starter was the fish cakes which were two really light and tasty cakes sitting in a butter and chive sauce. It makes a change not to have to season sauces because they taste perfectly season when they arrive. I could cheerfully have selected anything from the menu for my main course but, as I normally do when trying somewhere new, I chose the fish, chips and mushy peas. Feel a bit mixed writing this review. The rating is on the food and not the restaurant itself which I would have given a 1. I had scallops to start which was nice but garnished with some very bitter leaves. Very very good fresh grilled lobster. My Dad and FIL had plates swimming with sauce. Actually looked like soup but they ate everything and said it was good. No veggies or potato’s on the side. Although you can order them it’s not clear the main is all you get. I’ve been here a few times and it never fails to impress us.. lovely entrance, we’re staff greet you and make you feel welcome. Once seated you have a menu which is also your place matt.. Drinks orders put in and a lovely menu to look over , plus also informed of specials on the black board. Once we placed our order, bread with butter is brought to the table, owner tina takes of food order and she’s off.. we had starts and mains and of course puds.. all beautifully cooked from fresh. Veg separately in dish for 2. Tina and her brother keep checking we’re all ok whilst we’re eating but not in your face, also waitressing staff also very tentative. Everyone had a warm smile. We have been using Cerutti 2 situated in the old waiting room at Beverley station for almost a decade. It is primarily a fish restaurant, although there are one or two meat dishes, (steak) on the menu. It is very much a family affair with Tina Cerutti the head chef, and Tony Cerutti and his son Dominic serving the guests. Four of usually meet for lunch around every six weeks. It is always consistently excellent. There is large menu, mostly fish done in many different ways and a large variety. The former railway waiting room dating from around the 1850s with its high ceilings makes for an elegant dinning room. The restaurant is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 12pm to 9pm. Four of us went for lunch; we had tried to visit previously but could never get a table. The food was delicious, with nicely spiced/herbed sauces. The mussels were outstanding, the scallops were delicious, the whitebait was the best. Our maitre d', Tina was very attentive, as was our waitperson Dominic. The interior is simple but very pleasant. The winelist is good and reasonably priced

Cerutti 2 to my knowledge is currently Beverley’s longest serving restaurant, well into 30+ years. There is options for meat eaters vegetarian. Adjustments made for gluten free which was very much appreciated. C2 has stayed true to their roots. Traditional family run restaurant. Enjoyed our lunch. Thank you

What a lovely evening! Fab food lobster amazing, the staff there so friendly helpful the Champagne cocktail well ! Thank you for a great night, it was even nicer that we weren’t rushed could sit talk after.

Delicious seafood, honestly faultless! And had so much flavour Great staff who were very attentive, definitely recommend.
