Having dined at Pepette a number of times while staying in Ste Marie, I am happy to recommend it as a place offering honest, good value food served with a smile. On offer is traditional bistro fare (tartare, oysters, steak frites, etc) at a reasonable price. Nothing extraordinary, but you will leave content and not feeling ripped off, which is not necessarily easy on Ile de Re. I recommend the tartare, which may be the best on the island.
We had dinner here out of season, late September. It was well patronised, with a cheerful family atmosphere. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was excellently prepared and presented, simple French bistro style. Just what we needed after driving through from the Loire Valley. Highly recommended.
Typical bar restaurant located on the main place you find in a lot of French villages. As it was at walking distance from where we stayed we went there twice for a drink and twice for diner. Food is good,cheap and no reservation is needed. Staff is nice and laid-back. Easy,no fuss.
Mid-day lunch during velo tour. Food very good albeit a bit expensive but Île de Ré is generally that (I paid €6 for a coffee and pain chocolat earlier). Food well presented, Riz au Lait to be highly recommended. Service prompt and attentive. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

Nice place, friendly service, good food. What else ? Try the fresh veal sweetbread (to be ordered in advance), a must !
