This restaurant has one of the best locations in the Three Valleys, the outside area overlooking a grand vista of mountain tops. This is a classy-looking place and the staff who attended to us were friendly, attentive and efficient. Unfortunately, we were generally disappointed with our food on this occasion, especially considering the sky-high prices. The ‘vegetable curry’ €33) consisted of beautifully presented, exotic but barely cooked vegetables with a scattering of dry quinoa mixture; all with no discernible curry spicing or sauce. Well, well, well, if it isn 't Chalet de la Marine in Val Thorens. This restaurant boasts a charming interior that will have you feeling like you 're in a cozy chalet, but don 't let the ambiance fool you. The staff have a knack for making you feel like an unwelcome guest in their home and we 're not talking about the kind of home where you kick off your shoes and make yourself comfortable. Now, we didn 't have a chance to try the food, but if the service is any indication, we can only assume that the dishes are as uninviting as the staff. The service is impeccable and friendly but the portions are on the small side, except the desert buffet. Beware that monster queue for the loo as there is only one for the restaurant and for the self-service.

Nice little ski stop on the Dalles/ Cascade slope. Lovely Hot Chocolate and Vin Chaud. Recommend for a breather between pistes.

Always the perfect spot to take a lunch in the winter sun and a beer in the deckchairs. I love wintersport in Val Thorens.
