We ate dinner there last night and we had an amazing evening. If we weren't with French speaking friends, we may not have known how or what to order. We had the Brassieres de Trapisteur and OMG, what fun to do with a group. I...am not a huge meat eater, but this beef was so delicious, I think I set a new record for myself. This dish is shared as are many of there dishes (like cheese fondue). The beef is thinly sliced, brought out on a plate raw, and you each cook it yourself on the old table mounted grill, with wood coals for heat. And the wine list was a lot of fun for my husband who was glad to have a local to help advise. Do not miss this experience when in Albertville!
In a traditional Savoyard chalet you can enjoy well presented hearty mountain food with a wide range of dishes. Our favourite is the Menu Brasserade where we can cook our own beef to the exact texture to suit our taste because you are provided with...your own table barbecue dressing note: wear layers which can be removed as the temperature heats up! Together with the beef come a range of sauces, a superb plate of creamy potatoes dauphinoise and a fresh, copious green salad. If you have a large appetite the duck salad is a great starter. Wash this all down with a good Cote du Rhone red wine and you exit into the snowy night well warmed.
This is a traditional restaurant highlighting cheese and meat. We went there two nights running because it was our closest restaurant and we didn’t fancy driving down to Albertville for dinner. The first night we chose a raclette which was really nice but served more...food than we could possibly eat. You could really share the raclette three ways. The second night I chose the tartiflette which was divine. Again it was a big serve and could easily be shared. I did my best to eat it all but it beat me. My hubby had sausages which came with lots of lovely potato. Certainly worth a visit.
This is exactly the meaning of the expression going native when you enter that restaurant . The wooden chalet is very cozy, well decorated and the staff has a friendly but no nonsense attitude. The food is simply great and the portions are huge and...luckily only very tasty but hearty local Savoie food on the menu . A great summer terrace and plenty of parking on top of that green hill; le Col du Tamié next to the famous monastery . Each time we visit Savoie we eat at Les Trappeurs at least once, and the food is always excellent. Today was no different, the food was of a very high standard, if the service seemed a little slow. However, that could have been because it...was Sunday lunchtime in France, and no one is in a hurry, all seemed prepared to sit and chat. For regional specialities Les Trappeurs would be hard to beat. As long as your nerves will cope with the death-defying drive up and down from the Albertville side, this is a restaurant not to be missed.
Les Trappeurs is our favourite restaurant in Savoie, the cozy warm chalet is very beautiful and traditional, they serve Savoyade traditional dish, personally I like Fondue the most, but other dishes like tartifette, meat grill, everything is nice. The restaurant is located at albertville and...just min drive up there, great for family, couple and friend, they are always full, need to make a reservation in advance.
Now then now then, this place is unreal. I just hope I can go back here before I die. It is AMAZING. The coolest log cabin, which is really cosy and well appointed, AND the food is to die for! We had a roclette, with...hams and charcuterie, and when the cheese is melted all over it really is heaven. You know why this place has won so many awards, IT IS TOPS! I just wish i was there now!

I visit the Alberville area frequently and always stop here for a little mean. Oh what a meal it is! Fondue is to die for! They make you feel right at home!
