Brought my mom here for her birthday but condescending manager ruined our meal. I ordered my filet medium rare, when it came out to me it looked medium well. Waiter even agreed with me but needed the managers approval. Manager with a condescending tone told it was just the lighting and said it was in fact medium rare. I'm not a very rich man. I'm just a blue collar worker who took a chance on a restaurant that quite possibly could of been overpriced and under delicious. Not only was I blown away by dinner but the service was immaculate. For a Saturday night in Red Bank not only did my server Anthony check on us multiple times, but his recommendations were akin to asking God what I should eat. After complimenting the meal Phil the executive chef came out and greeted me with a wonderful disposition. Our dinner at Char, in Red Bank, was our first time there. We ate outside because we are still not doing indoor restaurant dining. Our table, on the sidewalk alongside the building, had regular chairs. There are also a few tables in the street with backless benches. This section of Broad Street is closed to traffic during the summer, which makes dining outside really pleasant and enabled us to avoid the loud music being played inside. Important to us is that we were able to reserve the outdoor table on Open Table. After I ordered a steak I was asked if I wanted steak sauce or butter with my steak. I asked for butter and was charged an additional $12 later on for this without being told. It was only two small slices of butter that cost this $12. Tasted great but was not worth the extra money for a small piece of butter.

Last weekend, my friends and I dined at this restaurant, and it was a fantastic experience. The burger was incredibly delicious, just melting in your mouth. The cocktails were strong yet quite enjoyable. The ambiance was also really pleasant. I would definitely come back!
Over priced steaks and overall menu over pricd as well. . Steak ordered med rare and came medium. Broccoli tasteless and not warm. 300.00 tab for 2 ppl with 4 cocktails and dessert. Cream brulet was dense not creamy. Was seated in a corner without a view. Not returning.
I stopped by for a meal with a good friend, and I have to say, the food was outstanding. The service was equally impressive. I can't praise this place enough, and I will definitely be returning. A big thank you to the management for the excellent service!
We went into Char in Red Bank on a Saturday night with friends, I had a cosmopolitan which was delicious, ordered filet mignon and lobster tail with sides , everything was outstanding, also had desserts. I love this restaurant! Would definitely recommend
