Went with 2 friends for dinner to Chatau Locguenole, The restaurant is situated in the cellar of the chateau Locguenole, next to the kitchen. The ambiente was very nice, reflecting the rustic character of Bretagne (in a positiv way). The menu suggestions were very ballanced and cost wise between 50 100 Euros, depening on the amount of courses ordered. The service of the restaurant was really excellent. The waiter could explain all the details of the food in French and English. The wine menue was also good, displaying a lot of 2 nd bottles of wine chateaux, which made it payable as well. Asking the somellier for a full body wine, he recommended a wine which was not on the menue for around 70...
Small and comfortable restaurant. We were on a deal which involved a 3 course meal with wines. The fois gras starter with citrus presented the kind of challenge which I occasionally enjoy at high end restaurants – extremely well executed but you are not sure whether you like it or not. The cod main course was described by my wife as the best fish dish she had ever eaten. The bread and butter served throughout was outstanding. I really enjoyed the wine pairings chosen by the lady sommelier (sommelière? all of which matched the dishes perfectly. It is supposed to be a relais et chateau which we stay at often and respect the brand. This hotel is a shocking representation of the brand : it is very run down, understaffed and feels more like a family home that has run out of money and turned it into a makeshift hotel. The restaurant is a fantastic place for dinner but is wildly expensive for what it is. Spa area is oddly positioned inconvenient and a bit creepy. The pool feels very cheap with the low rent plastic furniture and cover mechanism . The rooms are lovely but you will be confined to them . The grand salons though lovely are lifeless and unwelcoming , as if you are intruding on someone's home.
Étant habitué à cet excellent château nous avons voulu y retourner pour voir le nouveau restaurant . Accueil chaleureux ,barman très sympas . Arrivée au restaurant très grande qualité du service, serveuses souriantes , une sommelière excellente très compétente. Nous avons très bien mangé. Good location, great Michelin 1* restaurant. The property grounds were magnificent. The place slowly grew on you each day being there. We stayed at the junior suite, which was lovely. It's so hard to maintain a mansion with grounds like this. Appreciated all the efforts put in to make it special. Staff was friendly as you began to chat with them. Will definitely come back.
We thought the fish was amongst the best we have ever eaten . Very imaginative and not too complex sauces. We also enjoyed the local wine and cheeses. The staff was excellent, attentive, but not hovering. The stone interior room is intimate with a warm ambience.
We enjoyed a very memorable seven-course meal at Jeremie Louis’ Michelin-star restaurant. Every single dish was a culinary delight and creative composition. The staff were very attentive, and the wine list had an impressive choice of French red wines.

Excellent Valentines meal, service surpassed all expectations. The quality of the food was sublime and highly recommended we can not wait to return.
