Stayed 2 nights in nice room with view over the valley. But needed a PhD to work the complicated shower. Ate in the restaurant both nights which was excellent. Breakfast was ok with good coffee. Swam in the outdoor pool which is a reasonable size. Also did massages which were very relaxing and we followed up with a wine tasting session organised in the cave below the hotel. Nice location for gentle walks - reception has a list 14 walks available. Hotel has a very cute chapel in honour of Saint Jacques.
Lovely setting, nice menu concept (each dish c.€20, or 3 courses c.€43, 4 courses c.€65), friendly staff who manage the PERFECT balance of English / French for non-French speakers, nice selection of wines from c.€30 upwards presented by a VERY knowledgeable sommelier, lovely play area for kids away from the al fresco dining area, really ticks all the boxes for a 3 fork restaurant, just don't expect anything more and you'll enjoy your meal.
After skiing in Val d'Isere and on our way to Geneva airport, we spent a very enjoyable night at the Chateau des Contes de Challes. The room was spacious with a good sized bathroom and overlooked the garden. Dinner at the chateau was spectacular with excellent prix fixe menus and great wine list. To top it all off, two musicians, a violinist and guitarist, softly played variations of old favorites as guests dined.
We enjoyed a very pleasant evening meal in the Chateau, a sensible menu, nothing too adventurous, but a good selection of choices.The tiramisu style crab was interesting but had no strong taste. Most of the other guests plumed for the fois grass.Our fish main dish (Omble_Chard

This restaurant was beautifully situated on the terrace of the Chateau overlooking the valley below. The menu was small but delivered incredible food. The local wine was fantastic too. The chef also kindly created a beautifully presented cheese omelet for our son.
the service was wonderful and the sommelier excellent. One is spoiled for choice. We dines 2 evenings in a row and every time the menu changed. The food was unforgettable. As these restaurants goes this one was better priced
A table to stop by as each taste is worth it. Attached pictures are just showing the art. Come and taste it on site ... We really enjoyed our week end. The sommelier knows very well his job.
We had a 5 course meal. All of the dishes were ok without being exceptional. We finished with an assortment of deserts which was good but the portions were too large as a 5th course.

Restaurant and the service quality is first class. Daily menus are available with excellent sorts of wine and desserts. The waitors are good and friendly.
Great food and wonderful ambiance. Huge fireplaces with a glass floor revealing part of the wine cellar.
