This is the only Checkers location I visit, and while the food is good, it is quite expensive. They’re often out of items like sundaes, which is disappointing. Today, we ordered the 8-piece fried tenders combo, and it ended up costing nearly $18, which seems outrageous. Checkers really needs to reconsider their pricing. For comparison, Popeyes offers larger chicken pieces and combos for much less. The food was tasty, but the price for that combo was way too high. I’m not sure if the drink caused the high cost, but the chicken pieces were too small to justify $18—it should be around $10 or less. This place doesn’t even deserve one star. I ordered the 3-patty Baconator and the regular Baconator. My boyfriend ate his, but mine is still sitting in the fridge because no one has called us back. There weren’t even real bacon strips on my burger—just a few crumbles—and it didn’t look like it had the correct patties. I called the corporate number twice and spoke with someone about the issue, waiting for a manager to get back to us so I could have my burger made right. I ordered funnel cake fries through DoorDash, but they never showed up. When I reached out to DoorDash for help, they said they couldn’t assist and advised me to contact the restaurant directly. I tried calling two different numbers for Checkers, but neither connected. This is absolutely unacceptable. I also called the store number provided on DoorDash, but my call was ignored. I won’t be ordering from them again and plan to file a complaint with corporate.
My grandson and I ordered three double checker cheeseburgers at the walk-up window. The manager first told us we could only use one coupon for all three orders, but later she agreed to let us use one coupon per order. We then headed to the parking lot with six double cheeseburgers for a picnic lunch with my brother and grandson. Unfortunately, all the burgers were singles and not fresh. Checkers in Forest Park, I’m disappointed this time.
