As a private chef on a yacht I sometimes have very little time to stock up the crew food when during long distance passages. All I can say is thank goodness for The Cheeky Yam!! I can't even explain how lovely the owner and the staff were to me. I put in an order for some meals to go and they delivered above and beyond my expectations!! Not only do they have top notch customer service but their passion for the food they prepare and serve accompanied with the owner's enthusiasm is unparalleled. Amazing food...especially the black bean burrito and caramel slice, in a down to earth atmosphere. Thanks to The Cheeky Yam...you're legends!
Stumbled upon this cafe by chance with a friend while out shopping (it's in a shopping centre), and when I found out it was vegan was very happy.I had the black bean burrito which was huge and really really delicious especially the tangy green sauce on the top, whatever that was.Non-vegan friend had the vegan pesto pizza and said she liked it (although didn't rave about it either).Wonderful vegan dessert by Magic Tree dessert company. Go for the Rose one that tastes like Turkish Delight with raspberries in it. Would go back again and again.
Stumbled onto the Cheeky Yam & what a find! Cold pressed juices & good selection of vegan food, of course gluten free options too. Also some AMAZING sweet treats that are not loaded with sugar & other nastys.I was in heaven, I'm not a vegan by any means, however do appreciate good quality ingredients being used to make yummy food. Will be back when next in Cairns & would recommend to all
When I first entered, I mistook it for a standalone cafe, but it turned out to be a small seating area with a display counter located in the entrance of a shopping center. They offer pre-made food options, mostly consisting of bread-based items and cakes. It's a good spot for a quick and light snack.

This is one of the best vegan restaurants I've been to. I ended up going here three times during my stay in Cairns. My favorite was definitely the vegan bratwurst (first option on the menu). My non-vegan friends loved the food as well :) portions were big so affordable too.
Great to find a vegetarian café in Cairns. Ordered the mushrooms which were nice but it had chilli in it which it didn't mention on the menu. So I couldn't eat it which was disappointing.
Really yummy vegan food that would please everyone even if they aren't vegan. Only two things that let it down slightly were the service was a bit slow and no high chairs available
This place was specialize in vegetarian and vegan food. Even thought we were not fully vegetarians, we still enjoy the food and services there. Good Jobs!
