The chef's vegetables were lackluster as they were not seasoned, simply being a mix of various vegetables. The cornbread dressing with gravy was served with a small portion of cranberry sauce, with no option for requesting an additional serving. Upon calling the restaurant to inquire about the possibility of receiving more cranberry sauce, the person who answered the phone was unfriendly and provided poor customer service. He claimed that it was not worth paying for extra cranberry sauce.
Chef and his son were so sweet and helpful! Felt like I was at my auntie Deborah house. lol. This was my first time there, I got the 4 side platter (Mac n cheese, black eyed peas, cabbage, yams) and the veggie sub with greens!! Every single bite was sooo delicious! O M G ! Better than how mama make it! I WILL be coming back and buying PLATTERS for thanksgiving and every other gathering. 10/10!! Would recommend!!
I live right around the corner from Chef Greg 's Soul N The Wall . I 've been wanting to share a review for a while, and photos of my food. The problem is that his cooking is so damn good, I forget to take out my camera before I 've eaten it all. Chef Greg is the truth, and the next time you have a taste for soul food, this is the one. He cooks stuff up by order though, so plan in 15-20 minutes for your order.
I was very disappointed with the food. I was in town for a Graduation ceremony, and we decided to try it out. Over priced buffet at $32 per person. The flat wear and utensils were plastic, and the music was to loud. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
A must try when you are in Detroit. A true hole in the wall, resonate with neighborhood history. Greg is a thoughtful and pragmatic ambassador for Detroit, and he makes damn good food too!
I absolutely loved everything we ordered at this restaurant. Not all soul food places are good, but this will definitely be my new favorite spot for soul food.
The Boogaloo Sandwich is fantastic! It evokes a lot of nostalgia. This is the place for authentic soul food. Chef Greg is talented and truly knows his stuff!
