If you're craving the classic, indulgent vibes of a Chinese restaurant like Chen's, you might enjoy it. However, if you're seeking a more authentic Monterey Park experience or a healthier California-style meal, this isn't the right spot. While the soup had a nice, flavorful kick, there are plenty of excellent Thai restaurants nearby (right next door, in fact) that offer fresher, more satisfying dishes featuring vegetables. First time here. Got sesame beef and broccoli with potstickers for an app. The stickers were excellent, maybe the best I've ever had. So many times the dough is too thick and rubbery but the dough for these potstickers was thin and a bit crispy. My only quibble with the beef is that they drown it in sauce. Also, there were barely any sesame seeds as it is called sesame beef. It was tasty but it would have been better if I could enjoy the beef in its own right. Nuance matters lol.

Arrive with an empty stomach! The portions are massive, the flavors are decadent, and is the perfect place to bring friends. Highly recommend the spicy salt and pepper shrimp. This is also a staple of the community.
This restaurant is my absolute favorite. It offers the best Chinese food I've ever had. I really miss the Szechuan shrimp! When I lived in Long Beach, this was my go-to comfort food. Chen's, I love you!
The portions are really generous. I had the kung pao bean curd for $11 and the lemon chicken for $14, both of which were excellent. The service was quick, even though it was a Thursday dinner.
Portions are truly enormous. $11 for back plate (kung pao bean curd) and $14 for front plate (lemon chicken). Tastes great too. Service was fast at dinner time on a Thursday.

The staff is incredibly friendly, and the food tastes great. However, there have been times when they forgot to include utensils for the rice.
