I've been here quite a few times in the decade I lived nearby. We don't have many restaurant options in walking distance, and most are not full service. So when I don't want to drive but don't want a hotdog or taco, I come here. Both the service and the food remain consistent. The food is cooked well but has limited seasoning which is great for someone with dietary restrictions, not for the foodie looking for flavor explosions. It reminds me of the old greasy spoons I would visit in Chicago in the early 90s which is nostalgic. I could look past the average dishes if the service was better. Great family restaurant. We usually go for breakfast after going to Silver Cross Hospital. This is about the closest restaurant from the hospital. Since we are getting older, and our bodies are breaking down more than before, we seem to be getting more and more blood testing done. Since we have to fast for a lot of our tests, we can't wait until our testing is completed to go for breakfast at the closest place. The restaurant has been remodeled into somewhat of a county style. The tables and booths are unique. We love it there.
My girlfriend and her mom went to breakfast yesterday and she ordered a farmers skillet which had no meat in it. Server went back to the kitchen to inform the cooks and they said there was meat in it even though there clearly wasn’t. They charged her for a side of meat after the waitress brought back a side of bacon and sausage. Even tho her order was wrong in the first place. Owner was rude and disrespectful and wouldn’t budge. Will not be going back. Shame on the cooks for not admitting they made a mistake

Food and service are good. Kind of small, had to wait for a seat. Which I guess is good because that means people come there for the food. Would eat it again.
Great dinner, great breakfast, I ordered the Hercules breakfast, awesome eggs hash browns and bacon and sausage patties, the put it on the table in 4 minutes
This place is Great to come and eat and enjoy good food and good service, The Waitress we had was good and took our order with in a couple minutes.
