Our hotelier recommended this hotel and booked us a table, which was just as well because, by 1945, it became very busy. We were greeted with an amuse bouche of tiny pieces of toasted french bread with what looked like a kind of tuna mix. We were initially disappointed at the lack of meal choices: for the mains, one option each of pig and beef and 2 fish. They offered 2 or 3 courses. With the help of the very friendly young waitress who did her best to speak to us in English, we worked out our options. I only wanted one course so my companion had 'my ' starter (delicious bream) then ordered a dessert for himself. My main was Zander, which is river pike. Delicious and very fleshy. My friend h...
