Awful. We didn’t mind the starters (beef carpaccio) but it wasn’t great. We then noticed our food being ferried to and from the kitchen multiple times. When they realised it was our food, it was brought out to us before our starters (which we had just finished) had even been cleared. My partner order a medium-rare steak. It was chewy, incorrectly cooked and didn’t taste nice at all, it was COVERED in salt and that’s all you taste. And for me, Moules Mariniere in a white wine sauce. It was overcooked. Dry, shrunken and discoloured. Completely put us of our meal. In fairness they did everything they could to put it right, so we can’t fault them there! But at that point we just wanted to leave.
After a fantastic meal on our first night followed by a disappointing meal on night two we followed the advice of our hotel for our final night in Saumur who booked us here. No nonsense family restaurant located centrally, we sat in the conservatory area at the front. Had a seafood starter which was great value at only €10 followed by an excellent steak burger. Good choice of wine with a local 50cl carafe of white finding favour. Every table was taken and hard working friendly staff did a good job, it wasn’t Michelin standard but was friendly good value and wholesome.
Waited 20 minutes to order drinks, then starter took 20 min to arrive, then further wait of almost 55min to get mains. Complained but no discount offered. Other tables had orders taken after ours had had eaten and left before our meals arrived. When food eventually arrived it was lovely pity it took so long, we have been going to this restaurant under various names for over 20 years with exception of the Covid years and never had service like tonights, the service was apalliing but the food was good. So all in all would never recommend to anyone or eat there again.

Decided randomly to pop out and have supper in town. Not looking for anything too smart or too expensive. Chose this place based on the varied menu and the options for children. The welcome and service are very friendly, but the food is nothing special. I had a chicken burger, my wife a steak, my son chicken nuggets. Son definitely chose best. We decided to share a café gourmand and we’re glad we did as the puds were dry and unexciting. Overall, it was fine, but there are many better.
Interesting to read the latest reviews as our experience here was much more positive. Fun, buzzy atmosphere with a young waitress who did a pretty good job. My Moules with garlic sauce was superb so many, I couldn't manage quite all of them. Husband's entrecote steak huge and cooked perfectly though the fries didn't look too appetising so we left those. No room for dessert but the bill with wine came to £25 pp which we thought was fair.
Really good, just not great. Would recommend for an easy, casual dinner. Service was nice and friendly. Beef carpaccio entree was a huge portion; probably best part of our dinner.
Very poor service. Waitress was rude and would not bring silverware or water. Tried to disparage me in French thinking I could not understand. Food was passable but not great.
Lovely atmosphere and food and nice ways to spend the evening. Fantastic friendly service. Foods was excellent and well presented. Great value for money and recommended.
