When I turned up to book for Saturday night the Friday lunch service was full and the restaurant had no tables available for Saturday evening or Sunday, so we went on Saturday lunch. The set menu choices ranged from 22€ to 37€ we chose the latter. Aperitif arrived with a slice of home made sausage roll. I knew instantly that the chef “knew” pastry and there was only one desert for me fresh apricot tart it was delicious with a crisp pastry edge and fresh moist apricots. my wife had the Isle footnotes. . Smoked salmon, prawns and avocado was my starter while my wife had a rich duck pate with toasted breads which added texture. Mains were scallops and shorizo barbecued with a rich cream sauce a...
Arrivés pour le déjeuner sans avoir réservé, nous avons eu de la chance d'y trouver une place. Accueil charmant et professionnel de la responsable je suppose professionnalisme de la serveuse, lieux agréables tout a été réunis pour passer un agréable moment. Plats délicieux et joliment présentés, bref, une super adresse que nous gardons devant retourner dans les environs prochainement. Petits conseils: Savourez le pineau venant d'un petit producteur charentais et régalez vous avec la cassolette d'escargots, un super régal. Nous reviendrons avec un grand plaisir
Just excellent. Friendly and competent service. Requested vegetarian food in advance, as it's rarely something French restaurants in the countryside do everyday, and we're treated to an astonishingly good meal. Velouté starter with melon and pastries, egg terrine main course with potato galette and fresh salad. They even made an anniversary cake as dessert. Topped off with champagne, an evening to remember. (Live music was French take on classic jazz, and VERY loud. It seemed to go down well with the rest of the clientele.
Tucked away in rural Central France this restaurant is like an oasis in a desert. A short drive off the beaten track was a the picture postcard Chez Jackie not what I expected. Discovered this superb restaurant in the end the map locations aren't right it's actually where the D140 joins the road south from faverdines .We stopped for lunch and had one of our tastiest and best meals on our trip through France.Well worth a detour.
Cuisine excellente je me suis régalé. Personnel agréable. Bien que pas embêtant plusieurs chiens circulent dans le restaurant. Pour la réservation souvent un répondeur qui indique les horaires et demande de ne pas laisser de message.
