We were doubly lucky. Staying in a friend's house in a little-known but very charming village - Cavillargues - we discovered this lttle-known but charming restaurant about 15 minutes walk out of town up the hill. Husband and wife run and they keep their menu fairly limited - which is probably a good idea because it allows them to do what they do superbly without compromise. There is still plenty to sustain 2 visits (and probably more) - which we know because after a lunch there with friends we decided it was the right place for an evening meal to celebrate our anniversary later in the week. My husband and I stumbled on this out of the way haven in Cavillargues and returned the next week with our entire family. It is nestled into a hill side, surrounded by vineyards, hills and church steeples. The food is delicious and affordable; the service is warm and personable. Quite apart from the fabulous meal, the view, the breeze, the warm sun, the fabulous hike over and home on the "yellow trail" system, which included a stroll past an 11th century church and grotto (St Sepulchre), made this outing unforgettable. We had a great meal at this lovely restaurant, we were a party of 8 and we were greeted by the owner and his charming 3 year old daughter she was a delight.The setting was lovely and the food very good .
The food was very good, the view is great and I realy liked the overall ambiance. Very sympathic waiter! No vegetarian main course, though. Still 5 stars!
