On holiday with the family, my partner, I myself our 10 months old daughter went for a ride and some lunch. We drove to Cavillargues, just 10 minutes from where we were. After some research online we selected Chez Ma Mere for...lunch. We were not disappointed, the food was incredible, the view was stunning the service was friendly and helpful. Despite being very poor in French, the loving man took his time to speak slowly in French, but also translated for us, if necessary. We loved the food so much we booked for the following evening and took the rest of our family. That night there were six of us who had a number of courts. Both starters and nets were great. Dessert here is the highlight!...
We were doubly lucky. Staying in a friend's house in a little-known but very charming village - Cavillargues - we discovered this lttle-known but charming restaurant about 15 minutes walk out of town up the hill. Husband and wife run and they keep their menu fairly limited - which is probably a good idea because it allows them to do what they do superbly without compromise. There is still plenty to sustain 2 visits (and probably more) - which we know because after a lunch there with friends we decided it was the right place for an evening meal to celebrate our anniversary later in the week. My husband and I stumbled on this out of the way haven in Cavillargues and returned the next week with our entire family. It is nestled into a hill side, surrounded by vineyards, hills and church steeples. The food is delicious and affordable; the service is warm and personable. Quite apart from the fabulous meal, the view, the breeze, the warm sun, the fabulous hike over and home on the "yellow trail" system, which included a stroll past an 11th century church and grotto (St Sepulchre), made this outing unforgettable. A lovely restaurant just outside the village and well worth the visit. Our party of 8 went twice!! Remy and his lovely daughter Charlie were very welcoming and friendly. We unfortunately didn't meet Remy's wife as she was in the kitchen.The views were superb as...the sun set on the horizon. We had the starter, main and dessert with a carafe red wine and water for two people and paid under 100 euros on a weekend night. For this region was the excellent value for money. It was served by the owner who spoke English to us and was very attentive. Not usual again in this region! The food was well presented without having to wait the usual hours that are so typical in the region. Very recommended and also for families.
This amazing restaurant found on Tripadvisor. After a nice ride to the restaurant you can park in the free parking in front of the restaurant. From the car that we are greeted by a super friendly Maitre, he is as friendly as he is funny We... have the croques with truffles and beaufort, Steak Wetare and Profiteroles Maison. Without annoying the best combo I had to prove in 5 years. Keep the amazing work and see next year!
We had a great meal at this lovely restaurant, we were a party of 8 and we were greeted by the owner and his charming 3 year old daughter she was a delight.The setting was lovely and the food very good .
