I am really not one to complaint. Ever. This restaurant looked really promising and I’m sure the food is delicious. However we waited on the terrace under the afternoon sun for more than 25-30 minutes without much of an acknowledgement or even a glass of water or bread. All fine. I go to grab their attention and the serving lady dismissed me in her great stress shrugging her shoulders like it had nothing to do with her. And still 5 minutes later didn’t act on it. Just sitting there on an empty sad table, burning under the sun without knowing what or when to expect... we left. If you can’t attend so many tables then don’t put so many tables out.
After the visit to the abbey, we had lunch at Mimie's. All tapas and/or dishes were of good quality and delicious. Perfect quantity with 2 tapas. We also took a knife steak piare. with the best seasoning. for beef fries, a slaughter. Home and quality service. While being prepared on site and at the last moment, you must have at least one hour ( dessert plate).
We stopped for coffee and it was clear from the get go that our visit was a total inconvenience to the lady working here. My coffee was spilled and only changed when I asked, the change was just a change of the saucer so actually I only had half a cup. Slightly bizarre way to run a cafe in a beautiful touristy town!
We were looking to eat near the abbey, buts it’s amazing how many have low reviews so this was the best one we could find. The female hostess was less then welcoming, which wasn’t the best start, however we both had the Salade du Pays which was absolutely delicious, which more then made up for the service! restaurant located before the entrance of the Royal Abbey. from the quality house cooked with simplicity. We also liked the natural reception of the server. Nice discovery.
