We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Chez Pepe yesterday evening. It's probably our 8th or 9th visit to date and we're never disappointed. We started with delicious oysters and whelks which were really fresh and tasty, followed by a whole Turbot to share which was...beautifully cooked and expertly filleted and boned at the table. It was accompanied with fennel, tomato and creamy mashed potato. For dessert we shared a plate of brebis cheese with black cherry jam, lovely. The atmosphere is really laid back and cool and the service young and friendly and the view of the oyster port and sunset just makes for a perfect evening. I added photos separately.
Very different from your usual restaurant, several fishing huts converted into eating houses along the Port. Unique. The restaurant was fully booked but we mentioned we were travelling from Australia and the Manager shuffled some tables to fit us in. We were not disappointed, the...huitres, fresh fish dinners were 1st rate. Very accommodating and friendly staff, English speaking which helps our poor French vocabulary and Elody our waitress, was a delight. Highly recommended if you are in this part of France.
A really relaxed meal on the terrace of this oyster cabin. The food was excellent, fresh and well cooked. The service was good too, equally relaxed and unhurried. They have a nice selection of seafood on the menu, but only 4 fish dishes as a...main course choice on the night of our visit. If you don't like fish, you might be better going elsewhere! The oysters were particularly good and not too pricey.

we ate yesterday evening at chez pepe for our high-time contract and what a tasty bite. the tempura oysters and the piquilos were amazing, beautifully presented and full of taste. the pavé de morue boiled to perfection and so fresh, bravo au chefs....The waiters were really efficient and friendly, ready to help with any request. a fantastic fish restaurant in the wonderful ternhafen of arès.
Ate here on our second night after trying Cabane 44 the first night. Slightly disappointed. Oysters thrown on a plate no ice, one slice of lemon but both prawns and oysters were delicious (to be expected though. Not hard here is it). Our fish...was dry and on a tasteless bed of peas, beans and artichoke and we felt it was expensive for what we got. Profiteroles were delicious but took ages.
sometimes when they revisit a restaurant, it is disappointing, not as good as the first time, chez pepe is constantly excellent, they only know that they will take care of and have a great meal, great service and a great time. the personal is wonderful, the fresh fish is cooked to perfection, which could be more desired.
only open during the holiday season's, this place merits a visit for its excellent and varied menu as well as its location at the small arès harbor nice food, good service, a must when you are in the region comparable restaurants in the region: makhila...in arès and le batelier in lège

a beautiful evening chez pépé, delicious food, super waiter, a perfect evening in the harbour of arès oyster. our hypothec fraîche and bar were cooked as usual for perfection. I recommend this restaurant. my photos don't make the food fair, as they were presented beautifully.
my daughter had thunfish and it was delicious, she said. I had oister and there were shell bits and black spots in some of them. some waiters wore their mask not right (nose and mouth exposed)
