When you are hungry on a Saturday afternoon in I'Isle sur la Sorgue, Chez Stephane is most probably your life line … almost all other restaurants are closed. We found this little, wonderful wine & cheese shop with a tiny bar-bistro in the back and ordered a wonderful cheese platter and had some divine glasses of wine (Châteauneuf du Pape). We enjoyed an extended snack :) and would like to thank the bar owner for his expert recommendations (we loved all types of cheese but the Camembert was our favourite).No better way to spend a rainy afternoon!!!
This is a real artisan cheese and wine delight!We ordered white wine and a cheese and charcuterie selection. The offering was fantastic (see the pictures). This is a great venue, vintage, with lots of atmosphere. Service is slow but well intended, the owners are simply cheese experts with a passion for everything cheese. I speculate they can name the cows, sheep and goats who contributed the milk for the cheese. Great, just great!Just go!
Stephane is exactly what you would expect from a cheese and wine French shop. The owner of the same name serves all his customers with a great choice of lovely French cheeses and wine. Chez Stephane is worth stopping for a French snack anytime up till 1900 hours. The only downside is that being on his own, servioce can be a bit slow if there are too many customers.
We stumbled upon Chez Stephane while looking for an afternoon snack. The staff was super helpful and put together a customized plate of cheeses and meats with a wine pairing. I had some of the best cow cheeses of my life, ask for the "Saint Nectaire" and "Gruyere Alpage."All of this for less than 30 euros. Highly recommended.

A great little find, fantastic cheeses and an excellent selection of reasonably priced good wine. We went here on Saturday night for some cheese and wine and they were having a mini concert outside with extra tables, sadly it rained but we all piled inside and carried on regardless, lots of fun.
Great service! Marc's excellent knowledge on wine and cheese was excellent. He explained well to me the different types of wine. Great experience!!! Highly recommend. If in the southeast, make sure to visit and have a wonderful experience!
We happened on this delightful establishment whilst exploring L'isle sur la Sorgue. Two glasses of wonderful Rhone wine, fabulous Compte cheese, bread and walnuts. Charming and knowledgeable proprietor. A great way to pass some time.
An amazing wine and cheese merchant. Chez Stephane had a good stock of these essentials, knowledgable and helpful staff and was a perfect place to start the evening, sitting outside watching the world go by.

Typically French in decor, atmosphere very friendly and relaxing, EXCELLENT selection of wines, delicious cheeses. English spoken by most of the staff for those who's French is a little rusty!
Stephane's place is the only place for cheese and great wine in L'isle. An adept since 2010. * I live here so can't fill in the "when did you leave" part. Tamara
