Chick-in has been my go-to place for my periodic fried chicken fix, and it hasnt disappointed once.Located in a tiny (and slightly filthy) 'am I gonna get robbed/stabbed tonight' alley that is very close to Southern Cross station. The place is clean, well-lit and with a nice wooden decor and lots 'Korean Chicken and Beer' posters all over. There is a bathroom located next to the place which they have the key to. Let's just say that it wont be winning any seven stars soon, but will do the job. tucked in a tiny lane just minutes from Southern Cross Station. this little Korean joint delivers! tried the Gangjung Plate, which comes with huge 'bento box' style with bits of pork, dumpling, salad, pickle, rice and miso soup all included. great value, and super yummy! loved it. the place is packed and can only fit small amount of ppl. although feels cramped but it is clean. will go back next time to try the chicken wings or schnitzel. excellent service friendly staff.
Korean fried chicken cravings had us headed for Chick-in, and those cravings were satisfied! We had the Gang Jung with the Kimchi Fries, and the Charcoal Burger. The chicken and kimchi fries were spot on, the same can't be said for the burger though, this was a bit of a let down. However if you're after fried chicken then you definitely need to check this place out! Really cool atmosphere and banging tunes, will have us coming back for more!
Chick-in is a great little place just off a lane near the bottom of Collins St (near Spencer). It serves Korean Fried Chicken at very reasonable prices (around $11 average) and the service is quick. Food is served either with a Soy base or spicier base usually with rice or fries. It is a small place so usually gets busy by just after 12. If you want a guaranteed spot get there early ! Food was quite tasty but limited.It was lunch time though. Both the chicken dishes were good and the hot one was threatening which was a positive Service was friendly and efficient. A tight space geared to a quick lunch experience.
Don't waste $12-14 plus dollars for a couple of chicken nibbles with some other fried rice paste slices that have been fried in oil being soggy and tossed over some spices to hide... I hate KFC but would prefer over this..
