The food at China House is average at best. Classic dishes like General Tso's, black pepper chicken, and crab rangoons do not compare well to those at other Chinese restaurants in the area. It's unclear when the quality declined, as this place used to have much better food and a larger buffet selection. However, they do serve the best chicken on a stick around. The black pepper chicken is puzzling; the chicken balls are oddly airy and lack flavor. The buffet offerings are also significantly reduced—about two-thirds of what they used to be. I think I'll be dining elsewhere.
I have been coming here ever since I was a child. For all 20 years that I have come here, I have never left unhappy with my food or service. I can be honest and say that the food is not the same as you would get from a fancy restaurant or anything special like that, but it is good, and the price you pay for a full buffet is well valued. Eating here feels like home to me.
I'm honestly surprised by all the negative reviews. This place is fantastic! The thinly breaded fried egg rolls are delicious, the rice is consistently moist and cooked to perfection, and the meat is full of flavor. I haven't had a single bad experience here. It's far better than any restaurant I've tried in the Charleston area.
This has always been our favorite Chinese restaurant. The prices are reasonable, the food is consistently delicious, and the staff is incredibly friendly. We recently moved about an hour and a half away and have been let down by the local options. We always make a point to visit China House whenever we're nearby!

This restaurant was very disappointing. There was only one type of chicken that tasted good; the rest were unappetizing. I won't be returning! Additionally, the toilet was loose and coming off the floor.
Terrible....if you are going to run a buffet you have to keep it freshly stocked....this place used to be great..... waitress did not even refill my water....my only regret is that I can't rank it lower
The General Tso's chicken had a sour taste, definitely indicating it was spoiled. The sweet and sour chicken also had a rotten smell. I couldn't eat anything — what a waste of $30.

The food is fantastic, the prices are incredibly reasonable for the portion sizes, and the staff are among the best around. It's one of our favorite spots to dine.
