I was on a literal trip down memory lane (my sis and I used to live in town 20 yrs ago) when, passing by this joint, I had the sudden remembrance of an awesome shrimp dish which I could not remember the name of. I'm sad to hear of all the bad interactions people have had with the owner because she was so nice to me as I explained trying to remember what I had ordered so many years ago. She patiently asked me to describe the dish, offered to sub in vegetables that I liked, and made recommendations. Ended up going with the shrimp with garlic sauce. Alas it was not the one I was thinking of but the dish was still quite tasty, with good-sized shrimp and a sauce that seemed to have been prepared...
The steamed dumplings at this restaurant are simply the best I've ever had. I’m not sure what the secret spice is, but they are incredibly flavorful. I've been coming here for take-out for years whenever I'm in the area, and the food has always been excellent. Their almond cookies also make for a great snack. The staff is consistently friendly, and the prices are reasonable. Another bonus is that this is one of the few Chinese restaurants that offers restrooms for customers, which is really convenient for tradesmen who need to freshen up before enjoying a good lunch.
I recently had the most disappointing takeout experience at this restaurant. I ordered Egg Foo Yung, and the sauce had an overpowering taste of vinegar or wine that was simply terrible. My family has been visiting China Pavilion for nearly 30 years, and we've never found any other takeout in the area that could compare. However, since the ownership changed, the food has taken a significant downturn in quality. I've tried it several times, but I've finally decided it's time to move on from this place.
This restaurant was excellent under the previous management, especially with the outspoken older lady at the helm. The food I ordered was consistently outstanding, which kept me coming back for more. However, my favorite dish, the Kung Po Chicken, is now bland and forgettable under the new management. I would only consider ordering it again if the charmingly abrasive woman who used to run the place came back. Since that’s unlikely, I don’t plan on returning.

The lady was very disgusting and rude to not only me but to other customers, and the food is not good at all. So I made a big order worth about $75 dollars, I ask her if it 's ok for her to run down what in the order as I read what my friend wrote so we know everything 's in place. She told me I don 't have time for that, do it yourself goodbye. Really. I have told all my friends we will never order here again. The worst place ever!!!!
I've ordered from this restaurant multiple times since it delivers and is conveniently located near my home. The food has been decent, but tonight I was extremely disappointed to find a staple in my meal. When I called the restaurant three times to address the issue, I was hung up on twice. On my third call, a gentleman answered who clearly didn't speak any English. I will definitely not be dining here again.
If you think the lady is "rude," you might be missing the point. This place offers the best Chinese food in the Greenburgh area, including Elmsford, Ardsley, and Dobbs. The only other place that comes close is Bao in White Plains.
I had lunch here today and it appears that the restaurant may be under new ownership. The previous reviews about the food quality are still accurate. The service was prompt and friendly, with no rudeness whatsoever.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. We really loved the wonderful atmosphere and the meals were excellent. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I'm so glad we finally got to visit this place!
