visited with family and so we wish to choose the griffin instead. we ordered 2 signature fish chips and 2 signature hunters chicken. in my 52 years this must have been the most horrific fish I have ever served. it was. only a dried piece of juicy with a negligible fish filling. I had a fish finger of a child with more fish content! mushy drown stone cold. the hunters chickens of our partner have not rewarded much better. dried hard ****, burned garlic brot lemon garnish so charred it looked as if it had been pulled out of the coals of a bbq! it was as if the meal had waited 3 days under the hot plate! too busy to catch a waitress or waitress to send back the meal for healing (no faulty many)...
had a really delicious lunch with friends. one of our party was vegan, and she was very happy with the selection of the food from which they can choose. the manager jo was so courteous and nothing was too much annoyed. we had booked last minute this morning. for five people, and got a very comfortable table through a window. Although they were very busy, our meal came in great time, and was hot and tasty. we were not rushed and were able to enjoy our food with space between curses. would really recommend. we were all very happy. had net, gloomy and some had alcoholic drinks, and the sum per person including drinking money was worth £20.
Great experience , the selection of beers is super and the few I've sampled are top notch , Ice Breaker and Guinness especially , The food was excellent especially the Sunday lunch , I had the lamb which was superb my wife had the beef...an turkey option and we cannot fault anything . The staff are very friendly and the inn has a nice atmosphere and is very good for the sport as there are several TVs around the place mainly set at a very good volume level ie quiet around the dining areas and a little louder in the dedicated sports bar area. Place was spotless and a pleasure to be in.
Have been to this pub on a number of occasions and always enjoyed it. However we went for a drink last night and there were far too many dogs. I am nervous around dogs and on a number of occasions last night there was a...lot of barking and growling and I felt quite anxious. I felt at one time two or three of the dogs were going to go for each other and had to be restrained.. I feel the dogs should be restricted to one area only outside. I certainly would not want to eat here again whilst there are so many dogs which is a shame because it is a lovely pub with great staff.

We have attended the Church View a good few times last year and found it to be welcoming with a good selection of drinks available. We last went on NYE and the food service and ambience was brilliant. We were once again made very welcome...by the staff who could not do enough for us. We had family up from Devon who also commented on what a great night it was. We will definitely return. Cheers all.
we visited the pub on a Sunday for a birthday / secret sex show party. the personal could not have been more helpful and amazing. they were so friendly and accommodating and allowed us to release a confettikanone! eating was fantastic and atmosphere brilliant! my day made me! many thanks to all!
Manager told me told to use my common sense and open my mouth after ordering chicken strips made no effort to resolve the issue just gave attitude straight away and was shouting at me as she was walking away making me feel very belittled infront...of the full pub. #fuming
Always a warm welcome! Every time we visit we are impressed by the quality of service: nothing is too much trouble! Superb ambience and a quality pint. Proud to call this place our local.

Good service from the staff but beer prices are a joke 20% more expensive than other pubs in the area like a previous review commented, London prices in Widnes. Joke
