3.5/4 This was recommended to me by a friend as I was driving by Pickering. The inside decor is super cute and would make a great date night spot. Love the tropical wall paper in the side room and wooden tables. We got the baja fish tacos and Birria tacos. I would have to say I have had better tacos for a cheaper price. The flavour was bland and was only okay. But the real winning dish of the night would have to be the Achiote chicken, the chicken was so tasty and tender. Perfectly cooked that it's still juicy. Absolutely fantastic! We went for lunch and ordered the empanada entrée, which is exclusive to the lunch menu. It includes two large empanadas, which were so filling I couldn't finish them! The only downside was that the green sauce, while tasty, became a bit overwhelming after a while; I would prefer it to be served on the side or drizzled on top rather than pooled at the bottom. We also started with guacamole and chips, and the guacamole was amazing! The portion size was quite generous. I’d love to come back for dinner and try the cocktails sometime! The hibiscus Agua Fresca was delightful as well!
I heard of good things from this restaurant. The ambiance is very nice, very hip and vibing. The service was good as well. The food a bit on the pricier end. I ordered the pink jaguar margarita which was quite tasty. The guacamole was good with fresh chips, ordered more chips and had to pay extra. I had high hopes for the birria. I always see that it comes with a dip, but it did not. It had a lot of meat but honestly it could be a lot better as it was a little dry with not a lot of toppings and no dip for a birria taco.
Really pretty restaurant in Pickering! Great aesthetic. I wish I had taken photos. Servers are very attentive and our orders came out very quickly. Drinks and food were delicious. I had the Chuuk Margarita. Drink is strong and I really enjoyed it. For food we had the Birria tacos, fish tacos, and the guac and chips. Birria was a little too salty for me but everyone else really enjoyed it. Delicious nevertheless. I noticed that they also had a function room. Very pretty as well!
My go-to spot in the area, this is a real gem in Pickering. I always come for the Birrira Tacos but everything from the apps, desserts, and mains was delicious! Their drinks are amazing, I personally love the Pink Jaguar. The atmosphere makes it the best place for a chill dinner night out, right by the waterfront too. It seems to be getting busier so I suggest booking a reservation ahead as you can wait up to an hour for the next table.
Chuuk is an excellent spot to visit with friends or family, or even for a date night. The ambiance is fantastic, and the decor is truly lovely. Every dish we tried was wonderful, especially the Birria tacos. Be sure to go back and enjoy those again!
I live close by to this place. Loved their cassava fries and Mexican corn. Service was great Washrooms we're good Ambience perfect. Vegetarian tacos meh!!!
