Wonderful evening meal with cider on tap. Cider comes free of charge with your meal. There is a choice of dry or very dry. The big feature is that you pour it yourself from huge vats set into one wall. Turn the tap and it shoots out giving the chance to fill your glass with a flourish of showmanship. (Other drinks are available.)The food is straightforward, with fish (locally caught cod) served straight or in an omelette. And then there is the piece de resistance, cote de boeuf main course served with frites. This was cooked to perfection, nicely pink inside, and even 4 teenagers agreed it was delicious and kept asking for more.Restaurant looked unexceptional from the outside but long tables...
we were in arbonne outside of bayonne on the way through france and that was the highlight of our trip so far. the restaurant was in the middle of the village and was full of locals. we were shown in a large room that had 6 large tables with 14 people each. the menu we had 30 euro, from a fish omelette as an appetizer, followed by bark cooked over an open grill with salat and French pommes and a plate of cheese with a local cherry canned. there were two great shepherds of the local people they helped. all in all a delightful evening that was enormously worth!
We were staying in Arbonne and as the only restaurant in the village we had no choice. But we were expecting something exciting and weren't disappointed. Between the 3 of us we tried the 3 main offerings, Côte de bœuf, hake and omellete. And all were superb, as were the accompaning frites. Theres nothing simpler than beef cooked over fire, and they do it well here. And as for the pour-yourself cider, an added attraction as well as genuinely good refreshment. Highly recommended.
Good food cheap price for the friday lunch menu ! Very nice. But if you go on week - ends its still nicer and a bit more expensive which is normal considering the menu is different. Toilets are" de luxe" you can believe me.very nice. The sole obstacle is the service which is much too fast, I wanted to order "apéritifs" but the soup was already on the table! our journey took an unexpected turn and we made an evening meal here and were so glad that we did — what a wonderful place! rustic style community seats, help-you yourself more likely to leave the barrels (see at fixed price all-you-can-drink number! , friendly service, and absolutely beautiful. drilled côte de bœuf with house style friends and a simple green salat. one of the best meal times I remember.

We have been to this restaurant on numerous occasions, the bbq grilled T bone steak is one of the best I have ever eaten.Good atmosphere (It can be somewhat noisy as there often large groups of people eating together at the very long tables) very friendly service, English speaking owner, unlimited free cider included in the price of the meal. Had a brilliant meal here - we had the 30euro 3 course menu with help yourself cider. Everything was delicious. The cote de boeuf was amazing - perfectly cooked and seasoned and tasted just wonderful. The chips were great too. Really enjoyed the whole experience. Would recommend if you're in the area.
