I must admit I wasn't expecting much, and was very pleasantly surprised. After nearly 36 hours of travel and not being able to check into my hotel until 2 pm, I found myself wandering Melbourne in the cold, wanting nothing but a bed.I turned up at Ciel Café to catch breakfast. The staff were breakfast, and seeing that I was alone, tired and new to the city the staff were very kind and helpful. But the best thing of course, was the food. No, I am not biased by how hungry I was after such a long ways of travel. The food was incredible, and super cheap. The hot chocolate was unbelievable. It's a very nice, cozy café, with a bit of a hipster vibe. I'd definitely recommend it for pretty much anyo...
In Melbourne for my son's wedding and wanted a great coffee and breakfast. Was staying at the Hilton Hotel. Nothing great around the area. Looked up Tripadvisor and bingo, Ciel was named and famed. Reviews were accurate, and thoroughly recommend this place which is close to the South Melbourne Markets.Great coffee, the best Bircher Muesli we have had. I mean really great.Their Classic breakfast roti was outstanding. Friends had the porridge which they said was great. You certainly wont be disappointed. Good service too. A keeper
I always come here when I need a good breakfast and since I'm vegetarian it's nice knowing that there are always few delicious meat free dishes to choose from. Even though I don't love their coffee taste, having breakfast in this café definitely worth the visit! Highly recommended :-)
Good spacious vibes and atmosphere. Super convenient location. Not over crowded and dingy like some cafes. Coffee is great and food is good - some convenient options for on the go etc too. Some great cafes in the area but this coffee ranks right up there. Def recommend!
