We have consistently enjoyed our visits to Cinco de Mayo in Brentwood! It's always lively, particularly at dinner time, which is a great indication of its popularity. However, this busyness can occasionally lead to slower service. The servers are always friendly and welcoming. I'm particularly excited about the chips and salsa; their salsa is outstanding! You can really taste the freshness, and it has a delightful kick. I especially love their sopa de pollo (chicken soup, which some places might refer to as chicken tortilla soup).
First of all, the food here is amazing. Every time I go, I try something new, and they have never failed me. My husband is obsessed with the salsa here and some day will pick some up to take home for his movie popcorn. The staff is very friendly, depending on the waiter your service experience will change. Some are great and are very on top of checking up, but some experiences we had never been checked on and waters never filled. We will still go back because of the food and ambiance, but I hope the service improves!
Cinco de Mayo is by FAR the best Mexican restaurant in Nashville—and I promise we’ve tried them all. Their food is incredible (best salsa in town), prices are SO reasonable, and the staff is always so sweet and friendly. We almost always sit at the bar, and Ismael is the BEST!! I’d be lying if I said we haven’t come here twice in one week before but in all seriousness, you cannot get better than Cinco de Mayo!!
GREAT food, close to our Hotel (walking distance. The bag of chips were huge compared to most take-out restaurants. Salsa had a bit of a kick, but I love kick’n salsa. The chicken burrito was delicious and the chicken rice smothered in cheese sauce was to die for! I had them add shrimp with the order along with the chicken. They were jumbo and cooked perfectly! The wait is well worth the food and service. TIP #1: Be ready to order on the first introduction as this places is sometimes filled with big families or can really back up the kitchen. TIP#2: Listen for your number as they will skip over if you do not hear. I stood at what I thought was earshot distance, and still missed my number. Great location. One of my favorites
This has been one of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever been to. The food was fantastic and brought out promptly. The staff was outstanding and extremely friendly and welcoming. The area was clean and very spacious. We did not feel cramped in the environment. Would definitely recommend this place for everyone; locals and visitors as well.
The atmosphere is comfortable and the salsa is lights out! The server was friendly, prompt and knowledgeable and impressed us with his ability to remember a complicated order without writing it down.
