When we first arrived, it was like taking a step back in time. A beautiful building set back into the woods of Petersham. We got there around 4 on Friday and no other guests had arrived yet. I was greeted by Mark who was very welcoming. He showed us to our room and to get settled for the night. The room was gorgeous, it felt like we were back in the 1800's of Europe. They left a complimentary decanter of Cognac out and plenty of board games to keep us entertained. We woke up the next morning to a delicious breakfast. Fresh muffins and fruit, followed by your choice of eggs w/ sides, or their specials of the day. Saturday they served up Apple Pancakes, and Sunday was a cinnamon French Toast....
What a find! Small, cozy inn wonderfully decorated and lovingly managed. Well off the beaten path but surrounded by pristine forest affording great hiking opportunities. Rooms are without TV 's and coffee makers but no complaints from us with working wood fireplace, crystal decanter of whiskey, and tastefully decorated. (Tea and tea pot in the room give a hint of hosts ' origins. The dining alone was worth the drive as dinner was extraordinary featuring a rather large menu considering the size of the establishment. My husband and I spent out 10th anniversary weekend at Clamber Hill. Mark and Deni are wonderful host and treat you as family. We stayed in the European suite and enjoyed a wonderful fire in the fireplace. Our meals and breakfast where delicious. Flowers, chocolate fudge and wine where waiting for us in our room when we got there. Beautiful hiking trails are located on the property and we enjoyed reading in the beautiful library. Board and card games are available at the in to play and wifi is available if you bring you laptop. We had a wonderful anniversary weekend and would highly recommend spending time at Clamber Hill Inn.
So much charm! My stay was comfortable and the food was delicious. I cannot say enough about the hospitality and kindness and thoughtfulness of the owners; especially Mark. I had asked about a particular recipe for the delicious breakfast muffins, and next thing I know, he’s written out the full recipe and left it on my dashboard! In a time where vacation rentals and Air b n b has taken over, there is something to be said for a warm abs personal stay while traveling! The grounds are beautiful too! Interesting place. Definitely off the beaten path (1 lane road approximately 1/4 mile in . This is a pleasant, back to basics property (no TV, internet access limited, etc. but quite restful. Dinner and breakfast was excellent and the hostess, Deni, was very accommodating. (never did get to meet her husband, he must have been busy cooking . All in all it was a good experience, we enjoyed ourselves.
Stayed at the quintessential New England inn on a work trip and never wanted to leave! All the reviews are true; words can't describe the detail that went into making my stay like a storybook retreat! Please gift yourself with a trip to Clamber Hill Inn and give the owners my love!
It was really nice, the rooms were cozy, food was delicious, it was quiet and relaxing. It was the perfect quick get away from our busy lives to enjoy our anniversary. The sitting had an amazing selection of spirits to purchase and enjoy while playing a nice round of cribbage.

Lovely building and rooms. Deni and Mark are great hosts. The food is always on target and good. We have been here before Covid and are happy to be here again. Also, I might add that Murray the greeting dog is a welcomed sight.
