Today, I had a disappointing experience at my favorite coffee and ice cream spot, Babbacombe. I encountered a staff member with a very rude attitude. It was a cold and windy day, so I just wanted to grab a coffee to go. As soon as I walked in, the female staff member didn't even greet me and immediately asked if I was looking for a table. I informed her that I was just there for a coffee, and she responded harshly, saying they were full. Her unfriendly tone made me feel unwelcome. She even mentioned that there was no space for my pram, which I felt was unnecessary since I was only out for a walk with my 2-month-old baby. The staff were fantastic; we were served by two young men who were friendly and incredibly patient, despite being interrupted by a very rude man at the table behind us who was upset that his coffee had gone cold while he was trying to get a good connection on his phone. The staff remained professional and handled the situation well. The food arrived quickly and was delicious, although a few items had run out as we arrived just before closing time. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area, especially if you have just made the trek up the hill from the beach.
