More than Simply Overpriced, BAD The three major criteria I use to evaluate restaurants are a) food; b) value, and; c) service. Cliffs Steakhouse gets an F across the board. First, the food. Simply tasteless. Things I would NEVER imagine could be bland, they managed. For example, onion soup. In some places it may too salty, in others, they don’t use quality cheese, here, it tastes like dishwaters with pieces of boiled or frozen onion pieces. Cheese is of unknown origin- without any flavor whatsoever. The filet mignon on the bone wasn’t a bad piece of meat, but once again doesn’t appear to have ANY seasoning. Steak was very under cooked. I asked for medium rare and it came out rare with the intent on flushing the cooking process on the searing hot plate. The problem was it came out right after the salad so by the time I got to the steak the plate was room temp and couldn’t finish “cooking”. There were some pieces that were done eventually, but for the most part the $50 t-bone was inedible. Also the only flavor on the steak was “char”. No seasoning whatsoever. I got a baked potato and there was no salt, no butter, and no pepper on the table. So I had a bland potato. To go with my bland steak. The servers never came by to “check-in”. Table bread was stale. I guess that’s what I get for going there...
Hadn't been to Cliffs in over a dozen years but it was one of the few restaurants that had available seating on New Years Eve, so I gave them a shot. I felt kind of rushed as they were probably expecting a surge of customers right after us. I ordered a Cowboy Ribyeye but it did not look like a ribeye at all. It was okay. It had a decent flavor but more than a cut below than premiere steakhouses. Cliffs is okay but if your are a very discerning customer, it's better to go elsewhere.
Took my father her for father day and we absolutely loved it. The steaks and appetizers were amazing. We had scallops with a truffle sauce, clams casino and a salad. The steaks were cooked perfectly I can’t complain. Even though it was a busy holiday they were able to accommodate us very quickly ! We will go back again!

Food is very overpriced. Service is poor. The waiters speak Russian all the time in the dinner area. They take too longer to service the tables. I had to wait for 20 minutes to receive the menu. My waiter never introduced himself. The food portions are miserable. I am not coming back to this restaurant.
The staff is amazing, friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The steaks (ordered a rib eye, medium rare) were excellent! Rivals some of the best steakhouses in nycI have been to many over the years. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
This place is a hidden gem. Been there five times and the food and service is outstanding. Has easily jumped to my favorite place for a steak dinner.
Outstanding food and excellent service! Our steaks were prepared perfectly and were flavorful and tender! We will definitely be back!
