Coffee is lovely. Customer service skills are lacking, Having read replies to other reviews, I am sure I will be met with similar hostility for not submitting a 5* rating for less than 5* treatment. I waited patiently for 15 minutes with only 2 customers ahead of me. I have no objection or issue waiting my turn, if I wanted an instant coffee I would not have gone somewhere like this in the first place. Fresh takes time and I was a returning customer that appreciates this. It was my turn to be served when, someone that had already been served, stood up from their seat, walked passed me up to the counter and was immediately served ahead of me, despite the barista knowing I was waiting patientl...

My wife and myself have just spent two days visiting relations in Kempston and yesterday afternoon we went for a nice walk around the lake at Priority Coventry Park. After our walk, we were looking for somewhere to have some tea/coffee and spotted the Cloverdale Retreat. My first impressions were not overly favourable and it was only after going inside and seeing both the decor and impressive range of homemade cakes that we decided to stay. I’m very glad we did as not only were the cakes (all four of us had different cakes with the orange chocolate one being my favourite) even better than they looked but the coffees were also extremely good. All in all, it was a most enjoyable experience one...

Lovely location though unnecessary signs everywhere. The ‘luxury’ ice cream was not that nice, certainly not worth the £3 price tag. Have never paid that kind of price for ice cream to have it served in the cheapest of cheap cones. If you’re making a big deal about serving ‘luxury’ ice cream, surely you’d serve it in a premium cone? Disappointing. We also asked for tap water and were served it in tiny environmentally unfriendly plastic cups. What’s wrong with a glass? Most cafes these days have self service water points and this would alleviate the staff from having to serve their customers tap water which was obviously a burden for them judging by the annoyed face of the lady who served us.

Went recently with a friend and we were waiting ages for our food. Id thought I'd give the cafe the benefit of the doubt as I wasn't impressed the first time I went but the service a second time was so incredibly slow. When my friends jacket potato came the cheese was visibly mouldy. It was very off-putting. I wasn't happy with my burger either which took ages but just look like it was a birds eye burger from our the oven! The wedges ordered also was just a jacket potato cut up!! Just grim really not good food at all. Despite all this the staff are friendly enough and offered my friend a complimentary drink/desert. Won't be going back again the food and atmosphere again is just plain grim. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

The restaurant has a good location and a nice view. However, the interior is dull and it was humid inside even on a cool day. We had to wait 15 minutes for our coffee and sandwiches, although it only took eight. My coronation chicken sandwich was plain chicken with mayonnaise on plain bread. The garnish was just lettuce with no dressing. The restaurant seemed closed after our walk around the lake, but we saw someone entering just as we were about to leave. There are many warning notices inside and no wifi. It seems the management has given up on meeting public expectations in 2023.

Paid £6 for two small tubs of icecream. Fair is fair- we got to use there facilities so complaints about that cost But my three year old grandson started coughing badly- when i asked for some tap water for my child they refused! They stated they had nothing to put the water in ?!?! And then stated they do not guve tap water. I know they do not have to give tap water as they are not licensed premises- but it is not like ibwas scamming them and walking off the street and not purchasing anything. Sad and anti family.

Terrible service, extremely slow! No apology for the long wait. The restaurant had no air conditioning and all the windows were closed on a day when it was 39 degrees outside. The staff was moving at a snail's pace. Overpriced for the quality, charging £3 for one scoop of ice cream is outrageous.

The location is beautiful and a great place for your mental well being. However the so called English breakfast was a dissapointment and did not show the venue in its best light. Everything else is wonderful experience. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

I had a wonderful full cooked breakfast at Cloverdale, the food was delicious and the service was friendly. It was the perfect start to the day.
