We popped into the Coffee Pot for coffee and cake at the weekend and were astounded at the large and diverse range of cakes and tray bakes, all of which were home-made by Laura. Everything looked delicious so it was difficult making our choices. Being gluten-intolerant I was delighted to have a number of options to choose from (there were a number of vegan options available too). In the end I opted for the gluten free chocolate and ginger slice, and my husband chose the coffee and walnut cake. Both were excellent. I would have preferred proper mugs/cups for the coffee as I am not a fan of disposables but appreciate that the cafe provides a popular takeaway service.
Wow the best cafe tearooms ever. The menue choice is amazing and the cakes are fabulous. We dropped in just for take away coffee first time then just had to go back for coffee cake. The chicken, ham mushroom pie was a great hit with my husband. I had fruit Scone jam. When we had finished, we sat out on seats under a canopy at the front of the cafe, I won't back in for scones, sausage roll Tobermory Whisky pineapple cake to take away. Outside there is also a cake box full of goodies, open 24/7 for when the shop is shut. Laura who runs the shop and makes the cakes is both friendly helpful. So are the other members of her team.
Had lunch with my family and friends whilst staying in Salen. HANDS DOWN the best cafe I have used bar none. Excellent range of snacks, food drinks that are all very reasonably priced. Cater for vegetarians, vegans and gluten free which is great for the small set up. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend a stop to taste some of the delicious food whilst on Mull.
Didn’t go into the cafe but stopped by the cake box which is located next to the shop a few times during our holiday to get some sweet treats. It’s open 24/7 and has an honesty box. Lovely selection of tray bakes, fudge and biscuits. Loved the white chocolate rocky road and strawberry and white chocolate flapjack.

This little gem sells freshly made stuff such as sandwich baguettes and drinks to take away. There are a few seats outside and we were lucky enough to have good weather to take advantage of them. The bacon baguette I had was the best ever and all of my family enjoyed their choices. Great find.
We stopped by to pick up a quick snack for the road and decided to share a cheddar scone and a fruit scone. They were so delicious that we regret not getting more! We highly recommend stopping by this place, and I will definitely visit again when I'm back on Mull.
Laura, the owner, creates delicious homemade cakes and sandwiches with a lot of pride in what she does. The cafe offers a wide variety of treats and excellent coffee in a cozy atmosphere. Don't miss out on stopping by this charming little place.
Cakes out of this world, the choice is remarkable. Coffee great and the service and friendliness above what is expected. Do not pass this by just because you cannot sit in, we visited a few times and either sat outside or in our car.

I had a fantastic meal at a restaurant in Salen on Mull. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the products were excellent. I especially enjoyed the orange flap jack. It was a great spot for a meal.
Discovered the coffee pot while on holiday. I have never tasted such wonderful food. The quiche was amazing. Wish I could order one.
