This is not my first review of COHO and probably won’t be my last. Mostly we visit here as a couple or with family and close friends. It is within easy walking distance from our home (so no risk with driving if we drink a little too much) and we always enjoy our food and the quality of service. However, just recently we have taken to holding our networking celebration meals here. We are a group of business people who meet fortnightly to share business experiences and promote each others business where we can. Our first visit here since before the pandemic. Our previous experience had been excellent but this time we were underwhelmed to say the least. Despite the restaurant being a third full the service was slow and mildly disinterested with the waiting staff disappearing for long periods..One of our party had a shell fish allergy and asked for his dish to be served without a prawn butter. Either the chef or waiting staff forgot and while most of our party were served the one with the allergy was kept waiting while some other dish was created for him when the error was discovered. No one was quite sure what he was eventually served but it bore little relation to what he received about ten minutes...
We were early for lunch but they were not phased. They were so very welcoming. The restaurant and toilets! were sparkling clean. The menu was wide ranging and the food was really the best we have had in a long time. For a very fair price, two delightfully presented dishes were brought out. There was exactly the right amount of food on the plate, not skimped and not overloaded. We had smoked salmon to start and it was deliciously and then I had sea bass. It was so fresh and cooked to perfection. I cannot praise the staff highly enough, they were so pleasant and the chefs certainly know their skill. We had a very nice experience in Coho on Sunday. The set menu is varied but some dishes have supplements. Prawn and crab salad timbali was excellent. Service is slow but it was nice to take time and chat. Staff were all very nice but there did appear to be less staff than when we arrived. I think the restaurant runs a lunch time sitting so that may account for the delay in between courses as the room was full. Guests were nice and well behaved little ones are welcome. (Rib eye wasn't great )tbh This is not Smiths Brasserie where the food is truly excellent but we really enjoyed it and we thought the price for 2 or 3 courses was reasonable. We had a mixed experience at this restaurant. The starters, chicken livers and mussels, were delicious. However, we were disappointed with the mains. The linguine with seafood turned out to be spaghetti hoops with tough calamari and unexpected mussels. The pork belly was average and the advertised side of mash with cabbage and bacon was actually just mashed cabbage with no bacon in sight. It seems like there may have been some incompetence in the kitchen. Despite the disappointing food, the service and ambience were good. It's a shame because the bread on the table was excellent. It may be time for the restaurant to reevaluate its offerings and quality control.
The dining experience at this restaurant was top-notch, with a fantastic menu selection and friendly staff. The tables were elegantly set with white tablecloths and napkins, and a variety of bread slices were served with easily spreadable butter. It was a perfect way to start our meal while we waited for our freshly cooked dinner. The food itself was simply amazing, delicious, and beautifully plated. We were celebrating our anniversary, but we are definitely planning on returning in the future. This restaurant is truly special and deserves to be well-known by everyone.
I visited this restaurant for my 40th birthday on a peaceful Tuesday and was treated to outstanding food and service. They even sang me a happy birthday song and brought out a chef's cheesecake with a candle. It is a charming place with wonderful staff. Thank you to everyone!

The venue is nice, the staff are brilliant and the food is great. What a nice find having moved close. Will defo come back!
