I just discovered that there's a French restaurant in our neighborhood! We decided to give it a try, and we were thrilled with the entire experience. The food was fantastic—we had oysters, mussels, truffle fries, scallops, and steaks, all of which were delicious. The servers were incredibly friendly; I would give them 10 stars if I could. It was a last-minute reservation, and we arrived at 9 PM, even though they were scheduled to close at 10 PM. Nevertheless, they made every effort to accommodate us without making us feel rushed, despite us keeping them late. They continually checked in to see if we wanted more food or drinks. The entree portions were described on the menu as suitable for those with “eyes bigger than their stomachs,” but that was hilariously misleading. My wife’s scallop dish included just three scallops, a few pieces of corn, and a bit of sweet potato—not exactly a generous serving. While the food tasted good, it didn’t stand out enough to justify the price. We arrived excited but left feeling hungry and as if the staff didn’t value our presence. I won’t be coming back and wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone else.
The food was quite good, though it felt a bit pricey. For example, the small bowl of French onion soup priced at $14. Considering this is Boston and the restaurant has an upscale atmosphere, I wasn’t particularly shocked by the costs. However, I found it inconvenient that they don’t offer paper menus; instead, you have to scan a QR code to access the menu, and they don’t mention this when you’re seated. We spent some time waiting before we figured it out.
I really adore this restaurant! It was the only one open on Christmas near my house. The food was amazing, and the decor is both beautiful and Instagram-worthy. The portions were ample, and the dishes were well-seasoned. We especially loved the chicken and the short ribs. However, the pasta dish was quite rich with cream, which made it a bit too much. We really enjoyed the Nutella mousse as well. We'll certainly be returning!
The duck confit was outstanding, but the entrees—cider pork and monkfish—lacked flavor and creativity. The carrots and potatoes in both dishes were undercooked and hard to chew. Additionally, the prices were quite high. Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant.
We had a wonderful dining experience here during a special collaboration when Colette featured Chef Leah from Life Alive. The staff was very attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy. We were pleasantly surprised by the spacious back patio. The food was fantastic!
