On Sunday, October 2/2016, while entertaining a first time visitor to Canada, Alma and Fundy National Park were must see destinations.After an early morning visit to The Hopewell Rocks, an afternoon tour of Fundy Park and a gorgeous hike through Dixon Falls...there was only one thing on our minds.....LOBSTER!!! (and Alma "Sticky Buns" of course)It was supper time and the first week of October....as I was driving out of The Fundy Park a truly terrifying thought entered my mind: "What if the lobster shops are closed for the season?" What a place. Great staff, with great attitude. They allowed us to come right before closing time, to get lobsters to take out to our chalet. They would not let us take the lobsters earlier as they feared we'd wait to eat them and the taste might decrease just a bit for the waiting time. We enjoyed the food at Collins more than anywhere else, except the new little restaurant across the street (an old church turned coffee bar and restaurant, forget the name but great food there too). Anyway, don't miss Collins. This is a memorable dinner awaiting you!
We drove out to Collins after hearing about the unique taste of freshwater lobster. You can buy and eat the lobster at the shop or take it home. The lobster was cooked and the staff even help you crack the lobster if you are a novice at it. They have scallops, salmon and shrimp for sale also. The staff are genuinely helpful and it was worth the drive. There is a bakery behind the store where you can go for sticky buns for dessert after your lobster.
While camping in Fundy Park we stopped in to Collins to pick up a couple of lobster for our camp dinner. One of the nice things is the cook and weigh the lobster and mark the price right on the shell so you know what your price is when you choose the one you want. As always the Lobster was very fresh. This is the one place I don't mind making a trip to from Moncton to get my fresh lobster. You can eat in and they will provide you with everything to make your experience worth while or, if you are not hungry, take out. I've done both and have always been well served and happy with my lobster. You get to choose as well. Always a female lobster for me.
If you want to see huge live and cooked lobster then make sure you stop here. Great selection of hard shell Fundy lobster. Prices are marked on the cooked lobsters. Expensive but all lobster are high priced now. They offer other fresh and frozen seafood so you can get you fill to take home. They actually supply Sobey's Stores in many areas.
We wanted lobster and were not disappointed. The lobster was cooked and chilled on ice. You just picked your baby, paid and took it home. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would I rather have it hot? Maybe, but this was delicious. No one left any on their plate, either! I would highly recommend Collin's.
Great little spot to stop in and see/buy live lobster (blue one and huge one in their tank right now). Stopped in on our way home to purchase cooked lobster for our supper at home tonight. #yum, can't wait Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Best seafood and fish ever ! We've been fans for 27 years and recommand this place to everyone heading to Fundy National Park ! Thanks to Mike for his hospitality !
