We have been coming here for years and we love this place. They recently changed ownership on September 15th. We met the new owner Lon, and he was super nice. He has been in the restaurant industry since he was 13 years old, for over 40 years. He was the owner of a few restaurants as well. Yes he did make some changes, but they were good changes. Instead of frozen sliders, he buys fresh sliders 5 days a week. They are now 2 oz instead of 1. They taste really fresh and delicious. I have always seen Comet Burgers in downtown Royal Oak but never stopped by. I was browsing Uber Eats tonight looking to possibly order dinner, and they had a ridiculous promotion up: spend $15+ on your order, and get $15 back. I figured that had to be a mistake but lo and behold, it worked! (I 'm not sure if this is because I have Uber One, the premium version, or what ... I ordered two sliders, no ketchup/mustard (I 'm a burger purist , with just the pickles and onions; six mozzarella sticks; and a large order of fries. Stellar sliders, solid shakes, and chill atmosphere I ordered a double-cheeseburger slider and vanilla shake. The Slider: the bun is not cakey but rather a soft sponge-type bread that absorbs the juice of the burger well. This leaves a great meat-to-bun ratio, and the cheese melt is glorious, covering every part of the patty. I witnessed the maestro on the grill as he made my sliders, and he used the tried and true pinch and pull method of lifting the patty off the grill. The Cuzzy Burger was the People's Choice winner at the 2024 Burger Brawl .... and I visited to try both it and the corned beef egg roll. The burger uses wonderfully melty Gruyère cheese is heavily sauced with: Onion jam Garlic mayo Zip sauce The bun is perfection toasted. This restaurant always delivers a fantastic experience! The food is delicious, service is fast, prices are great, and the atmosphere is adorable. We have been coming here for years and now love bringing our daughter along. It's truly a breath of fresh air in the area, where most places are so overpriced. We also appreciate the frequent menu updates!
This restaurant has an old-fashioned burger joint vibe with a contemporary twist. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is delicious. If you're in Royal Oak and craving some classic sliders, be sure to give this place a try.

Delicious! I accidentally got barbecue sauce on my burger and loved it. I will definitely be returning, maybe even tomorrow, lol. It was so good.
