I am surprised that this restaurant is not at number one or two on this list on a recent 10 day trip to Le Puy we ate in many restaurants and Comme a la Maison was without question one of the best. Classical, seasonal...ingredients cooked to perfection took centre stage and each dish had an imaginative, contemporary twist. In terms of quality, my main of fish on cocoa beans easily equaled that which enjoyed in the Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo seriously. This kitchen knows how to cook and the price of 30 Euros for 3 courses is excellent value. If you visit, do not hesitate to eat here. Note to owner please turn the lighting down a little to create a better atmosphere! Candles in such a beaut...
We enjoyed our meal in the courtyard on a sunny day. The staff was friendly and helpful. I can't describe accurately all the different dishes as it was a while ago I shouldn't have waited this long to write the review... but the photos...speak for themselves. The food was lovely. We liked everything but particularly enjoyed the tomato trilogy crème brûlée, gaspacho and classic mozarella tomato combo . The duck with its potato emulsion and peaches was a treat. Small prices, big flavours. The lunch menu was at the time €27 without drinks. Its a great address if you're in the Puy en Velay. Visited on 15th August 2012.
We took the 45 € four course menu. I can recommend it. The food is creative, has great taste, and is made with high quality products. The restaurant has an excellent sommelier who proposes very good matching wines. Hence I can also recommend to take...the wines selected by the restaurant (27 € for 1 apero 4 wines)
we stopped for lunch and were really exaggerated on quality and worth. We got the smaller of the two menus and felt that the amount of food was just perfect. location is wonderful, right opposite the cathedrale. there is an inside courtyard so that they have the rest, from the street with pleasure, eating outside.
