When you walk in to this restaurant, don’t be fooled by the awards and medals that you see hanging on the wall, because either James beard was paid off or clearly never ate at this place. I made a reservation to eat here for a family member’s birthday, and we had one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had while eating out in New Orleans. In fact, this place is a pretentious, over priced establishment that is a stain on the true traditions and spirit of Creole cooking and New Orleans Culture. We found the menu to be poorly constructed, with dishes that lacked cohesion and any semblance of a balanced meal. Very cool bar/restaurant space off of a hotel lobby. Menu had some interesting and tasty cocktails, especially the frozen Pimm's cup. Tried two starters, one based on the server's recommendation. The papaya salad was fantastic, a little funk from fish sauce and fennel bite. Some additional heat from chiles would have been nice, but still a great dish. The ceviche was a little disappointing, too many flavors and textures, especially the coconut cream. For the main dishes we ordered the whole branzino and curried goat gnocchi. The fish was cooked perfectly and paired well with the carrot puree base. We enjoyed the goat, but the gnocchi was kind of lost in the dish. Service was pretty good, but...
We came for brunch and it was ok! There was a great bartender Toray, who was fun and attentive, also he's excellent at making a drink. Our server was nice and attentive as well. Do NOT get the tater tots, at $16 they were way overpriced, even with the afterthought caviar in sour cream dip. DO get the hot chicken, the croque madame, and the tuna bagel. I wish there were loaded tots with the famous goat on them at brunch(or something like that), I feel like we missed out. Will probably come for dinner if we come back again. (Please do something about the tabletops, they feel sticky and gross... And there is another review mentioning the same thing)
This is such a lovely space with great food, great cocktails and great service. If you just go for cocktails you won’t be disappointed. If you go for a full meal, you won’t be disappointed. Overall: check this spot out and don’t skip the goat gnocchi! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Literally everything here at this place is phenomenal! Highly recommend. The fried Caribbean jerk chicken with coconut grits, I’ll be dreaming about this dish until I get to come back to New Orleans! Literally life changing good!
We had a party of six and had an amazing time. We shared a whole bunch of appetizers and each had an entree and it was all fabulous. Highly recommend the hushpuppies, pig ears, tuna ceviche, goat curry and the ital stew.
Brilliant meal. We did the tasting menu and it did NOT disappoint the Goat curry is not to be missed either. Amazing cocktails, great vibe and excellent service. $275 for both of us including alcohol. That's a steal!
