I booked a table at the restaurant for 11 people having seen good reviews, on arrival I explained it was for a special occasion, they emailed me at the end of the day to confirm our booking and asked for our meal choices, we all...chose from the a la carte menu. The day before we were due to go I had another email from them saying they could no longer accommodate us, when I went in to speak to them personally as the email was a little unclear in translation they informed me that they had had other people ring up with bookings so they could no longer fit us in ! Very unhelpful ! thankfully last minute we found a beautiful hotel restaurant that overlooked the lake in Tailloires.
we have visited le comptoir du lac for three years in success. every year offers delicious food, friendly staff, a wonderful environment and just an excellent experience. the three course set menu was in this year 45 euro and was varied and... delivered to the usual high standard. a post-dinner walk to the sea and football game always adds to the experience. a fave among the local restaurants around the lake.
a home apero in the garden and selection of dishes then diner on the edge of the terrace always with views of the lake. amazing and very pleasant cuisine with rare flavors and well prepared by a cheffe who will soon be going to grade. Visited with the family and a great lunch from the fixed menu. Kids had two courses €19 and we had three courses for €25. Fantastic value for money. Imaginative cooking in a great modern setting by the lake. I couldn't cook to this standard so...a refreshing change to some of the mediocre cooking you find in many French restaurants. Would definitely give it a return visit.

I had an unmarried lunch with a fantastic view of the sea annecy. eating was good, especially the fish that was perfectly prepared, and they had a good choice of wein (although less by the glass.) especially the service was top notch, friendly and attentive, without being overlaid. an excellent stop at the lake.
the place was empty on Monday night. no single table that is occupied when we arrived to ask for a quick meal before our baby has to go to bed. either we didn't look good enough or the anesthesia of a 4 months old baby. was not good to sit with them and we said that the place is full and we have to go.
what do you have? great eating, cheap and a nice selection of wine. and we were greeted despite parking our 2 bikes outside and wearing shorts for a beautiful autumn day. the lookout could not be better and the service was efficient, low...key but perfect. can not recommend very enough.
Beautiful lakeside location. Good food and service . Much attention to detail throughout. Lots of parking.Peaceful atmosphere after old town Annecy.
