We heard several great reviews about this place during our visit to Princeton. But did it live up to expectations? My son had researched some places to eat, and he found this one. Some people online really talked it up. He also knew that we were supposed to park in back, which is where our GPS took us, so we never saw the front of the restaurant. Finding a place to park was easy, but that didn’t mean the place wasn’t busy. Actually, we had 4 5 families in front of us. While we stood in line, a server asked if we knew what we wanted. This is the #1 pizza in New Jersey. It is that simple. I 'm from Connecticut and grew up going to Pepe 's and Sal 's, and it is on par with them. I think Conte 's plain is actually better than any of the New Haven Apizza places. It 's crispier than any New York City pizza place. And better cooked than real Italian pizza from Naples. The biggest differentiator between Conte 's and just about anywhere else is that 1. they use fresh Jersey tomatoes which are world-renown for being the sweetest 2. they use the new York water for their dough which is what makes New York pizza famous. As a foodie, it is with going hours out of your way to try this pizza.
Worst sauce ever sour tomato paste gave everyone working indigestion . Way overrated greasy will never get pizza from there again tastes like boxed walmart pizza with thin crust . Blah where’s the antacids?

Great pizza! But closed on Labor Day. Call before you go if it's a major holiday. The hours are not adjusted on Google Maps.
