We visited on a Sunday for a relaxing afternoon of a few drinks and lunch. The place was not surprisingly busy and we were lucky to find a table. There was no problems with the service and they were pretty good on cleaning tables considering...how busy it was. The problem was with the clientele. The number of guests that should have been removed from the premises due to alcohol or other inappropriate behavior was appalling. But they kept getting served despite their obvious affected state. After a walk with 20 friends from Watsons Bay we were all looking forward to a relaxing lunch - on 5 separate occasions our friends and our family were treated so rudely. We waited 15 minutes to be 'granted access' to the Pavilion cafe because our IDs were digital - we were 18 last millennium! Bar service rude! Table service threw the plates on the table - at this stage we were looking for candid camera! Other tables next to us were treated the same. The octopus plate was cold and 'lamb rump' 60% fat - it was 70% empty which means the locals clearly know this is one of the worst restaurants in Sydney. It will be interesting whether management / Justin care enough to contact us and apologise...
the meal was a good quality pub eating. Unfortunately, the service was slow because it was the weekend and the entire venue was crowded. it was difficult to conversate with the members of our table because of the poor and to try to get into and out of the place was a struggle. I would like to add that this venue is not accessible to disabled persons, so I cannot recommend this venue to anyone with mobility needs, young or old. Maybe weekday dinners can be a better option, but I'm not too busy going back in a hurry.
Being a local - I've actually avoided the CBH for some months now - but ended up there yesterday for lunch. Pleasant surprise! The renovations were quite nice - very "Hamptons" in my opinion - white washed tables and chairs, foods trucks, ample seating and shelter from hot sun or rain. The new menu has a large selection and the prices seem a little more reasonable than before. I had the chilli squid and wings, great serving size and excellent taste!

Fish and chips I can recommend.Staff friendly but delivery of meals a bit adrift.2 of our meals arrived together but the other three were about 15mins later.Wine very expensive,cheapest bottle about $35.Never got to have a beer,so I can't comment on those prices.Eating area is fairly large.Located in a great position across the road from the beach but I think it was better in the olden days.Would I go again..maybe...
The meals have certainly improved since that last time I dined here. Over this summer I've tried their flathead & chips; pork cutlet; schnitzel & pizza which were very tasty, prepared nicely and with generous serving. Yes, the Pav down the road offers higher quality meals for only a little more in price but I really enjoy the atmosphere in the beer garden at the CBH on a hot summers' night.
Pub meals in a really casual environment. Indoor/outdoor seating is available. Service is at the bar and food is normal pub food, nothing too special. This is obviously not a place you need to dress up for. had a salad that was OK and
Had dinner here with a number of colleagues a couple of weeks ago. Really excellent meal to go with the stunning location. Will return when in the local area

Fantastic food and choices of beers. Right across the road from the beach. Has nice terrace at the front if u still want to be in the heat.
Staff just want you to leave no matter what time of the night and patrons full of young 18 year old children looking for a drink.
