I called the owner to order a chicken, as it’s listed on the menu. He informed me, "Not today, I can do it on Monday... I'm busy this weekend." I agreed that Monday would work. When he asked how many chickens I wanted, I said one, but then he claimed he couldn't do that! I was puzzled because he had just said Monday was fine. He explained that he simply didn’t have the time. While I can't speak to the quality of the food, I have to say that this kind of attitude leaves me unable to assess it at all. It's very disappointing because it seemed like a lovely place to eat.
When it comes to Jamaican food, this place misses the mark on authenticity and flavor. As someone who was born and raised in Jamaica, I can confidently say that the Jamaican dishes on the menu are quite off. The patty I had was terrible, and my oxtail with rice and peas was not up to par. If you show a picture of this food to any Jamaican and ask for their opinion, I think you'll get a clear idea of what I mean.
The best Jamaican patties I've ever had! The crust was perfectly flaky, and the filling tasted like pulled beef rather than ground beef, which I really appreciated. This was the highlight of our dining experience in Kona. The only downside is that the truck closes early, but I’m grateful that Andre decided to sell us patties as he was closing up!
If you are craving Caribbean soul-food that leaves you feeling well-fed nourished after you've finished your meal, go see Fish at his food truck!!! My favorite is the catfish with curried veggies platanos fritos. My daughters love his cornbread. Grateful for Fish offering up his vital itals to the ppl of Big I!!!

I had the jerk chicken sandwich, and while the bread could be sturdier (so make sure to eat it quickly), the flavor was absolutely amazing! We also tried the seafood salad with fried fish, which was incredibly fresh and delicious. This has been the best food I've had on the Big Island so far!
Truly authentic and delicious Jamaican cuisine. The jerk chicken platter was outstanding, featuring a jerk sauce that is sweet with a perfect kick. The pulled pork wrap was flavorful, tender, and filling. The handmade Jamaican patties were exceptional.
Thrilled to discover genuine Jamaican flavors right here on the Big Island. Enjoyed authentic Jamaican patties—fresh, not frozen—and deliciously sweet fried plantains. Keep up the great work!
Best Jamaican food I've ever had. Saw the flag flying off the highway and I knew I had to go... and it was totally worth it. Can't stop thinking about it, need to go back!!

Delicious food. We had jerk chicken, rice and beans, and cabbage. Everything was flavored so well. Would definitely go back.
Got the chicken cornbread sliders and curry ono. So good! Awesome cornbread too
